INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)
specialized agency entrusted with the promotion of responsible,
sustainable and universally accessible tourism.
It is the leading international organization in the field of tourism, which
promotes tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development
and environmental sustainability and offers the sector leadership and
support in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide.
INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
International Air Transport Association (IATA)
The International Air Transport Association is a trade association of the
world's airlines founded in 1945 in Havana, Cuba.
It is headquartered in Canada in the city of Montréal, with executive
offices in Geneva, Switzerland.

United Federation of Travel Agents Association
(UFTAA)
 It is an association of travel agents and tour operators.
 It is one of the largest organizations in the field of travel and tourism industry.
 The main objective of the association is the promotion, development, and expansion of
the travel and tourism industry worldwide. It offers its members all the necessary
material, professional and technical advice, and assistance to enable them to take their
proper place in the economy of world tourism.
INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
American Society of Travel Agent (ASTA)
The leading and largest professional association of the travel trade in
the travel and tourism industry.
It was established in 1931 as the American Steamship and Tourist
Agent Association but In 1945 the association changed its name to The
American Society of Travel Agent Inc.
INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC)
A forum for the travel and tourism industry.
It is made up of members from the global business community and works
with governments to raise awareness about the travel and tourism industry.
The mission of the council is: To raise awareness of the economic and
social contribution of travel and tourism. To work with governments on
policies that unlock the industry's potential to create jobs and generate
prosperity.
INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
 A specialized agency of the United Nations.
It changes the principles and techniques of international air navigation and
fosters the planning and development of international air transport to ensure
safe and orderly growth.
Its headquarter is located in the Quartier International of Montreal, Quebec,
Canada.
The ICAO Council adopts standards and recommended practices
concerning air navigation, its infrastructure, flight inspection, prevention of
unlawful interference, and facilitation of border crossing procedures for
international civil aviation.
REGIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)
 The largest travel promotional organization in the world.
 It promotes travel and tourism to and within the Pacific region.
 It was incorporated to develop, promote, and facilitate travel to areas
within the Pacific RIM in 1951 as a non-profit, voluntary, and non-
political corporation.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
 The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional
economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing
interdependence of the Asia-Pacific.
 APEC's 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people
of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable,
innovative and secure growth and by accelerating regional economic
integration.

Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO)
The CTO, with headquarters in Barbados, is the Caribbean’s tourism
development agency. established in 1989,
Its member countries and territories include the Dutch, English, French
and Spanish, as well as a myriad of private sector allied members.
The CTO's vision is to position the Caribbean as the most desirable, year
round, warm weather destination, and its purpose is "Leading Sustainable
Tourism - One Sea, One Voice, One Caribbean."

NATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
Department of Tourism (DOT)
The executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the
regulation of the Philippine tourism industry and the promotion of the
Philippines as a tourist destination.
It is a Primary government agency charged with the responsibility to formulate
tourism policies, plans and projects for the development of tourism as an
engine of socioeconomic and cultural growth.
It Spread the benefits of tourism to a wider segment of the population and
Ensure the safe, convenient and enjoyable stay and travel of the foreign and
local tourists in the country.
NATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
Tourism Promotions Board (TPB)
Formerly known as PCVC or Philippine Convention and Visitor's
Corporation.
 It is an attached agency of DOT which is primarily responsible for
implementing an integrated domestic and international promotions and
marketing program for the Philippines as a tourism destination as well as
for tourism investments.
NATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
Intramuros Administration (IA)
The Intramuros Administration (IA) established in 1979is an agency of the
Department of Tourism of the Philippines that is mandated to orderly
restore, administer, and develop the historic walled area of Intramuros.
Situated within the modern City of Manila.
Ensures that the 16th- to 19th-century Philippine-Spanish architecture
remains the general architectural style of the walled area. Its office is
located at Palacio del Gobernador in Plaza Roma
NATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS
National Parks Development Committee (NPDC)
The National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) is an agency of the
Department of Tourism of the Philippines that is mandated to develop,
preserve, and manage Rizal and Paco Parks in Manila and other parks that
may be assigned to it.
Its office is located in the NPDC Compound, T.M. Kalaw St, Rizal Park,
Luneta, Manila.
Both the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Director are
appointed by the President of the Philippines.

Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA)
 Formerly the Philippine Tourism Authority (Filipino: Pangasiwaang Pilipino
sa Turismo),
 An agency of the Philippine national government under the Department of
Tourism.
 Responsible for implementing policies and programs of the department
pertaining to the development, promotion, and supervision of tourism
projects in the Philippines.

Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP)
a non-stock, non-profit organization represented by hotel
managers, restaurant owners, university deans and CEO’s
Incorporated in 1951 and re-incorporated on August 2002, the
Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines is the
umbrella organization that speaks for the Hospitality Industry.

INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) specialized agency entrusted with the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. It is the leading international organization in the field of tourism, which promotes tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offers the sector leadership and support in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide.

INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)  A specialized agency of the United Nations. It changes the principles and techniques of international air navigation and fosters the planning and development of international air transport to ensure safe and orderly growth. Its headquarter is located in the Quartier International of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The ICAO Council adopts standards and recommended practices concerning air navigation, its infrastructure, flight inspection, prevention of unlawful interference, and facilitation of border crossing procedures for international civil aviation.

  3. Founded in 1974, The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is the United Nations specialized agency entrusted with the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. Formerly known as International Union of Official Travel Organization, the WTO renamed as United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) since 2006. The objectives of the UNWTO are to promote and develop sustainable tourism to contribute to economic development, international understanding, peace, prosperity and universal respect for, and observance of, human rights and fundamental freedoms for all, without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion. In pursuing these aims, UNWTO pays particular attention to the interests of developing countries in the field of tourism. In 1919, the International Federation of Travel Agencies (IFTAA) was established in Brussels. However, in 1996 IFTAA merged with the Universal Organization of Travel Agents (UOTA) with the objective to ensure better coordination, co-operation among travel agents, and to spread professionalism at the globe. The new organization established was known as the Universal Federation of Travel Agent Association (UFTAA). The main objective of the association is the promotion, development, and expansion of the travel and tourism industry worldwide. It offers its members all the necessary material, professional and technical advice, and assistance to enable them to take their proper place in the economy of world tourism. Functions: It unites and consolidates the federation of travel agent’s National Association to enhance and promote the interest of the members. It represents the travel agent’s activities before the various world bodies, govt authorities and suppliers. It assists through its education committee. It lobbies to oppose legislations which are directly harmful to tourism. It acts as an information and investigation center.

ICAO defines the protocols for air accident investigation that are followed by transport safety authorities in countries signatory to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation. PATA was established in 1951 in Hawaii. In 1953 its headquarters were moved from Hawaii to San Francisco. PATA first conference was held on January 1952 in Honolulu and its first Asian office was established in Manila, the Philippines in 1976. Functions: PATA provide information and practical assistance in the field of tourism • It assists upcoming destination to develop their infrastructure • It serves as a central source of information and guidelines. It helps the members in marketing. It organizes an annual travel mart.

APEC's 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and secure growth and by accelerating regional economic integration APEC ensures that goods, services, investment and people move easily across borders. Members facilitate this trade through faster customs procedures at borders; more favorable business climates behind the border; and aligning regulations and standards across the region. For example, APEC's initiatives to synchronize regulatory systems is a key step to integrating the Asia-Pacific economy. A product can be more easily exported with just one set of common standards across all economies.
