BI Summary Healthcare:
Worked with data warehousing groups throughout my 28 year career partnering on project initiatives
that require data design and reporting project management
Understand Epic Reporting configuration sourcing data into Clarity from Chronicles and the sourcing
of data from Clarity to Cogito. Cogito knowledge areas (Setup Guide – Understand the key elements
to install Cogito on SQL Server 2012 and resource requirements, Could conduct installation process
on a SQL Server 2012 platform, Cogito Fact and Dimension tables structure, Active Directory
Security and IIS roles setup, Viewing of the Data Dictionary, SSIS Package Installs)
Worked with senior team to define strategic data needs to support the ICD10 implementation. For
Example: Harvested data from Healthstream to create a Physician Education Tracking database
(SQL Server 2012) for the senior team to manage Physician readiness. Created database,
developed data requirements, created stored procedures, SSIS jobs and Excel Service based
reports to walk through summary to detailed Physician readiness with senior team.
Worked on several installs to setup and build BI Reporting for MS Project Server 2010 and 2013.
Understand server infrastructure and build requirements to support setup of analysis services and
analysis cubes to support reporting. Ability to write SQL, develop data design requirements, building
stored procedures and SSIS packages to support implementing these processes. Used Excel
Service based reports to render reports but could use Qlikview and limited Crystal Reports if
required.
Can build reporting with the PowerBI stack (PowerQuery, PowerPivot, Power View, Power Map).
Understand and can build PowerQueries using the M Language.
Healthcare Project Management:
Project Director for the planning and remediation phase of the ICD10 upgrade of diagnosis codes
from ICD9. Coordinated 8 workgroups spanning all clinical and operational areas (Clinical
Operations, Outpatient Physician Practices, HIM and CDI, Revenue Mgmt., Information Systems
(Epic Platform), Education and Training, BI Reporting and Communications) while developing a
detailed project plan, resource plan and budget to support the upgrade. Facilitated work sessions
in all areas while managing integration between core workgroups. Created high level swimlanes,
workgroup summaries and executive summaries for presentation to C Level Executives.
Reviewed project planning and monitored the progress of the Epic 2012 to 2014 upgrade as part of
the ICD9 to ICD10 conversion. Coordinated and facilitated Clinical process review sessions
identifying all current Epic system Orders using ICD9 diagnosis codes. Used data from Orders
review to build a process which supported invalid ICD9 orders from providers and patients after go
live. Changes were made to Epic to support tracking the invalid orders. Built KPI’s and SQL Server
database to track go live status reporting metrics (Revenue Cycle, HIM, Physician Practices,
Information Systems etc.) from Epic data and other ancillary system data.
Facilitated Director Level Steering Committee meetings ensuring that the core management team
involved understood and managed their ongoing and go live deliverables. Worked closely with the
IS Team to ensure all systems upgrades were tracked and implemented with the appropriate level
of testing. Built a SQL Server Physician database to track Physician education completions, in
progress and not started course work. Developed Excel service based reports to manage
communication with C Level Executives.
Project Manager of McKesson supply chain software upgrade during the slowdown period of ICD10.
Having no prior experience with McKesson supply chain I took over a poorly managed project,
reorganized the team, and realigned the planning to move from version 9 to 16. Built and managed
the overall project schedule and detailed implementation plan for all project phases. McKesson
commented that the implementation was one of the smoothest they’ve experienced due to my
project management direction and my implementation planning.
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Sept ‘09 to August ‘13
Senior Project Manager, PMO
Project management consultant for the EPIC software Implementation effort focused on managing
and implementing clinical and administrative planning specifically (Ambulatory, InPatient, Willow,
ClinDoc, Stork, ASAP, OpTime, Cardiant, Information Systems Interfaces and Revenue
Management). Worked with senior staff across the organization to ensure project plans were
created for EPIC clinical systems, IT Interface applications and Revenue Management. Trained
Project Directors on PMI based project methodologies as well as the use of Microsoft Project,
Microsoft Project Server and teaching project management methods. Co-facilitated weekly EPIC
project meetings between EPIC, IS and Business teams identifying key process gaps in areas of
planning and testing while challenging the Senior Project Director and Project Directors in support
of a successful quality project deliverable.
Worked with the EPIC Testing Coordinator in creating an overall test strategy covering the creation
of test environments, test cases, build planning, end to end testing, regression testing, and
integration testing.
Post EPIC go-live:
 Created incident tracking statistical analysis and aging reports for tracking the overall success
of the implementation and reported that information into the senior team daily.
 Working with senior leadership created an intake process to prioritized new requests based on
key organizational drivers which included Patient Safety, Compliance, Organizational,
Productivity, and Revenue. Developed training for the new process and rolled it out to all senior
leadership and their delegates.
PMO Project Manager for the ICD10 upgrade of diagnosis codes from ICD9. Coordinated the
software upgrade planning, unit and functional testing with each IT Manager which includes
(ADT/HPA, GE, CAC, EPIC, Vacubase, Baby Sentry Pro, Provation, BAR, RIS, Cerner, ARIA and
Interfaces). Working with Clinical support Project Managers to build out Integration testing strategy
and an environment build to support the effort.
Supported the Training Project Director in creating the initial Training project plan for the
coordination of all training across the organization. We worked together to ensure her plan was well
organized in order to prevent any training rollout issues.
MS Project Server Administrator for both EPIC project plans and the time reporting replacement
effort. Assumed lead role in managing the setup and maintenance of the tool learning all the
administrative functions of MS Project Server and SharePoint configuration management. Built
Analysis Services Data Cubes and Implemented Excel Services to create key dashboards for the
evaluation of project level. Managed maintenance of our backend SQL Server Database
configuration, built unique intake workflows for different project types.
Business Intelligence and Quality Project Management. Developed a datamart to support key
integrated milestones across several different project plans to support quality evaluation of current
plans using MS Project Server Business Intelligence tools. Created multiple reports utilizing
Microsoft’s SSIS and Excel Services and deployed them to SharePoint for review by the senior team
of the EPIC Project. Attended Microsoft’s Technical Education in order to develop and in-depth
understanding of Business Intelligence architecture and its use in quality metrics management. Built
a BI Project Portfolio Management reporting processes to support C Level reporting needs.

Testing Manager
The Release Manager position (Program management):
 Managing multiple individual projects (10-15) typically within a quarter to 4 month window.
 Partnership and management of multiple Application Development, Operations, and teams.
 Management of all phases of the system development lifecycle from Initiation through Stabilization.
 Project staffing, building and managing development integration plans and executing those plans.
 Creation of budget forecasts to report on current, future and variance project cost.
 Building the overall project plans in Microsoft Project and within our Enterprise Project Management
tool Daptiv (similar to Clarity).
 Working with the Quality Assurance area managing defects, defect resolutions and defining release
acceptance criteria for business signoff.
 Partnering with the business to manage stabilization and to coordinate the business implementation
and market release of the new functionality being delivered.
 Ensuring all audit and gate reviews for SOX compliance standards were met on a consistent basis.
The Implementation manager position:
 Build out of the weekend implementation plans for all teams which required creating a project
schedule that was essentially minute to minute over the course of an entire weekend.
 Organizing and managing the work of our Web Admins, Unix Admins, Oracle DBA’s, QA Migration,
Application development points and Business support areas.
 Environment management coordination in order to run MOCK implementations and performance
testing through multiple environments prior to the go live date.
 Personally direct the entire implementation from Friday night cycle close to Monday morning business
open.
The Development Integration Testing Manager position:
 Building out the project plans for integration testing and coordinating the integration testing strategy.
 Ensuring that the integration testing team clearly understood their role and its relationship to the
strategy.
 Ensuring that all low-level design components included detailed integration test plans.
 Ensuring those plans were understood across multiple application areas.
 Monitoring the execution of those plans prior to our handoff to Quality Assurance.
 Ensuring mock migrations occur to uncover missing components.
 Partnering with Quality Assurance to build the Integrating testing acceptance criteria before signoff to
the testing phase.

Acquisition/Underwriting:
Project Leader (Group Rating and Proposal System)’06
Project Leader for various business upgrades to the .NET Rating and Proposal system.
Managed all SDLC phases of the projects partnering with the business and IT to ensure
successful production releases. The team consisted of approx 12 developers.
Royal Bank of Canada RFP ‘05
Project Leader for on one of the largest RFP’s for Unum. Successfully managed upgrades
to 5 separate claims systems teams in order to supply key business data to RBC.
Project Leader (Polaris Systems Team) ‘05
Project Leader for conversion of Polaris Group systems to the .Net platform working with key
Microsoft consultants to implement the effort. Managed a key group of quality assurance
testers and developers in support regular release deliveries to our business partners using
agile/spiral development practices.

o 6 – 8 week production drops.
o We would do key feature-based prototyping and go through multiple prototype
iterations to build out definition, designs and development.
o As one feature was handed off for testing another was well underway for
development.
o On the next iteration we would refactor any feature that required additional

Coordinated 8 workgroups spanning all clinical and operational areas (Clinical Operations, Outpatient Physician Practices, HIM and CDI, Revenue Mgmt., Information Systems (Epic Platform), Education and Training, BI Reporting and Communications) while developing a detailed project plan, resource plan and budget to support the upgrade. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Sept ‘09 to August ‘13 Senior Project Manager, PMO Project management consultant for the EPIC software Implementation effort focused on managing and implementing clinical and administrative planning specifically (Ambulatory, InPatient, Willow, ClinDoc, Stork, ASAP, OpTime, Cardiant, Information Systems Interfaces and Revenue Management). Worked with senior staff across the organization to ensure project plans were created for EPIC clinical systems, IT Interface applications and Revenue Management.
