2. The church of Saint Achilles
• The church of St. Achilles is located at the top
of our city , Larissa.
3. The Ancient Theater
• The magnificent Ancient Theater of Larissa was
constructed in the first half of the 3rd century BC.
in Frourio, where the Acropolis of the ancient city
was located. It operated until the end of the 3rd
century or the beginning of the 4th century A.D.
and today it is one of the best tourist attractions
of our beautiful city.
4. • The Peneios is a river in
Thessaly, Greece. The
river is named after the
god Peneus. During the
later Middle Ages, it was
also known as Salabrias.

5. The Alcazar Park is the largest and most
important park in the city, with a history of more
than 100 years.
6. ALCAZAR STADIUM
• Next to the park is the football stadium Alcazar, which
is the ex stadium of the best football team in Larissa ,
AEL. Moreover Alcazar (meaning "castle" in Arabic)
with a capacity of 13108 spectators, was built in
January 1932.
7. AEL F.C. ARENA
• AEL F.C. ARENA is the new stadium of Larissa’s
football team named AEL. It was built in 2009
and it is one of the best stadium’s in Greece.
