ART
 There are several possible meanings for the
definitions of the terms Art and Arts. The first
meaning of the word art is “ way of doing
anything”
 शब्द कला और कला की पररभाषाओं के ललए कई
संभावित अर्थ हैं। कला शब्द का पहला अर्थ है ,”
काम करने का तरीका”
 Art is a global activity in which a large
number of disciplines are included, such as:
fine arts, visual arts, decorative arts, applied
arts, design, crafts, performing arts etc
 कला एक िैश्विक गततविधि है श्िसमें बड़ी संख्या
में विषयों को शालमल ककया िाता है, िैसे: लललत
कला, दृवय कला, सिािटी कला, कला, डििाइन,
लशल्प, प्रदशथन कला etc.
 The arts can be divided into several areas
 the fine arts which bring together, in the broad
sense, all the arts whose aim is to produce true
aesthetic pleasure.(लललत कलाएँ िो व्यापक अर्ों
में एक सार् आत़ी हैं, िे सभ़ी कलाएँ श्िनका उद्देवय
सच्चा सौंदयथ आनंद पैदा करना है)
 decorative arts and applied arts and folk art
which relate to an aesthetic side in everyday life.(
सिािटी कला और लागू कला और लोक कला िो
रोिमराथ की श्िंदग़ी में एक सौंदयथ पक्ष से संबंधित हैं)
FOLK ART

FOLK ART
 Art reflects the aesthetic sense of man and is a
product of human culture. India is an ancient
cultural country. Therefore, there is a unique
fusion of folk art in art and culture. Folk art is a
mirror of folk cultural traditions of any region or
place.
 कला मानि की सौन्दयथ भािना का पररचायक होता है
और यह मानि संस्कृ तत की उपि है। भारत एक प्राच़ीन
सांस्कृ ततक देश है। इसललए यहाँ कला एिं संस्कृ तत में
लोककला का अनूठा समन्िय ददखाई देता है। लोक कला
ककस़ी भ़ी क्षेत्र या स्र्ान का लोक सांस्कृ ततक परम्पराओं
का दपथण होता है।
FOLK ART ACCORDING TO MUSEUM OF

 Generally, folk art is ART that:
 May be decorative or utilitarian(सिािटी या उपयोधगतािादी हो सकते हैं)
 May be used every day or reserved for high ceremonies(हर ददन
इस्तेमाल ककया िा सकता है या उच्च समारोहों के ललए आरक्षक्षत ककया िा सकता
है)
 Is handmade; it may include handmade elements, as well as
new, synthetic, or recycled components(हस्ततनलमथत है; इसमें
हस्ततनलमथत तत्ि, सार् ही नए, लसंर्ेदटक या पुननथि़ीऩीकरण घटक शालमल हो
सकते हैं)
 May be made for use within a community of practice or it
may be produced for sale as a form of income and
empowerment(व्यिहार के एक समुदाय के भ़ीतर उपयोग के ललए बनाया िा
सकता है या इसे आय और सशश्ततकरण के रूप में बबक्री के ललए उत्पाददत ककया
िा सकता है)
 May be learned formally or informally; folk art may also
be self-taught(औपचाररक रूप से या अनौपचाररक रूप से स़ीखा िा
सकता है; लोक कला भ़ी स्ि-लशक्षा हो सकत़ी है)
 May include intangible forms of expressive culture like
dance, song, poetry, and foodways.(इसमें नृत्य, ग़ीत, कविता
और भोिन सिािट िैस़ी अलभव्यंिक संस्कृ तत के अमूतथ रूप शालमल हो
सकते हैं)
 Is traditional(पारंपररक है)
 Collins English Dictionary: “ folk art is
genre of art that includes the visual
arts, music, drama, dance and literature
originated from tradition of the
common people of the country.”
 (कोललन्स अंग्रेि़ी शब्दकोश: "लोक कला कला
की शैली है श्िसमें देश के आम लोगों की
परंपरा से उत्पन्न दृवय कला, संग़ीत, नाटक,
नृत्य और सादहत्य शालमल हैं।)"

TYPES OF INDIAN FOLK ART
 Folk art is the traditional art that has been
passed down from generation to generation in
any region or tribe. Folk art can be seen in
various forms in different provinces like India.
Which is known by various names, which is
discussed below.
 ककस़ी भ़ी क्षेत्र या स्र्ान की िाततयों ि िनिाततयों में प़ीढी दर
प़ीढी चली आ रही पारंपररक कलाओं को लोककला कहते हैं। भारत
िैसें देश में विलभन्न प्रान्तों में विविि रूपों में लोककला देख़ी िा
सकत़ी है। िो विलभन्न नामों से िाऩी िात़ी है, श्िसकी चचाथ ऩीचे
की गय़ी है।

 According to oxford dictionary:
“ creative art whose product are to be
appriciated by sight, such as painting,
sculpture and film making is called visual
art.”(रचनात्मक कला श्िसके उत्पाद को दृश्टट से
धचबत्रत ककया िाना है, िैसे पेंदटंग, मूततथकला और
किल्म तनमाथण को दृवय कला कहा िाता है। ”)
CHARACTERISTICS OF VISUAL ART
 It has two or three dimensions.(इसके दो या
त़ीन आयाम हैं।)
 It has fundamental elements such as
space,form ,size,shape,line, color,texture and
organisation of visual elements.(इसमें मूलभूत
तत्ि िैसे क्षेत्र, रूप, आकार, आकार, रेखा, रंग,
बनािट और दृवय तत्िों का संगठन है।)
 It is personalised.(यह व्यश्ततगत है।)
 Visual art are art forms that create work which
are primarily visual in nature. (दृवय कला िह कला
रूप है िो उस तरह के काम का तनमाथण करता है
श्िसे देखा िा सकता है)
 It involves using visual representations and
symbols to communicate meaning to express a
story or personal vision, emotion or concept
(इसमें एक कहाऩी या व्यश्ततगत दृश्टट, भािना या
अििारणा को व्यतत करने के ललए अर्थ का संचार
करने के ललए दृवय प्रतततनधित्ि और प्रत़ीकों का
उपयोग करना शालमल है।).
 Human being can understand things better
in visual forms, so its an effective method
of communication.(मनुटय दृवय रूपों में च़ीिों
को बेहतर ढंग से समझ सकता है, इसललए
यह संचार का एक प्रभाि़ी तरीका है।)
 It connects human with otherr humans and
nature as well.(यह मानि को अन्य मनुटयों
और प्रकृ तत से भ़ी िोडता है)
 Creating or understanding visual art can
enhance mental abilities .(
दृवय कला बनाना या समझना मानलसक
क्षमताओं को बढा सकता है।)
 It promotes understanding of global culture.(
यह िैश्विक संस्कृ तत की समझ को बढािा देता
है।)

 “ performing art refers to forms of art in which
artists use their voices, bodies or inanimate
objects to convey artistic expression”(प्रदशथन कला
कला के रूपों को संदलभथत करत़ी है श्िसमें कलाकार
अपऩी आिाज़, शरीर या तनिीि िस्तुओं को
कलात्मक अलभव्यश्तत देने के ललए उपयोग करते हैं“)
 Performing arts
comprise dance, music, theatre, opera, mime
and other art forms in which a human
performance is the principal product. (
प्रदशथन कलाओं में नृत्य, संग़ीत, रंगमंच, ओपेरा, माइम और
अन्य कला रूप शालमल हैं श्िसमें एक मानि प्रदशथन प्रमुख
उत्पाद है।)
 Performing arts are distinguished by this
performance element in contrast with
disciplines such as visual and literary arts
where the product is an object that does not
require a performance to be observed and
experienced.(प्रदशथन कलाओं को दृवय और सादहश्त्यक
कला िैसे विषयों के विपरीत इस प्रदशथन तत्ि द्िारा प्रततश्टठत
ककया िाता है िहां उत्पाद एक ऐस़ी िस्तु है श्िसे देखने और
अनुभि करने के ललए प्रदशथन की आिवयकता नहीं होत़ी है।)
CHARACTERISTICS OF PERFORMING ART
 Rather than static art Performing arts are art
in motion.(स्र्ैततक कला के बिाय प्रदशथन कलाएं
गतत में कला हैं।)
 They are ever changing and ephermal
(temporary). It can never be quite the same
twice.(िे पररितथनश़ील और अल्पकाललक
(अस्र्ाय़ी) हैं। यह कभ़ी भ़ी दो बार समान नहीं
हो सकता है।)
 Focus entirely on the act of artistic creation , as
artist become the artwork.(पूरी तरह से कलात्मक
, तयोंकक कलाकार कलाकृ तत बन िाता है।)
 It is performed in front of live audience.(यह लाइि
दशथकों के सामने ककया िाता है।)
 It can include many art forms , modern as well
as traditional genre such as painting, drawing
etc.(इसमें कई कला रूप, आिुतनक और सार् ही
पारंपररक शैली िैसे पेंदटंग, ड्राइंग आदद शालमल हो
सकते हैं।)
 It can be spontaneous and one-off or rehearsed and
series based.(यह सहि और एक-बंद या पूिाथभ्यास और
श्ृंखला आिाररत हो सकता है।)
 It can be on a small scale event or for a massive
public audience.(यह छोटे स्तर पर या बडे पैमाने पर
सािथितनक दशथकों के ललए हो सकता है।)
 It can take place at almost anywhere. (यह लगभग कहीं
भ़ी िगह ले सकता है)
 It can be recorded on film and videos and can be
reproduced with variations.(इसे किल्म और ि़ीडियो पर
ररकॉिथ ककया िा सकता है और विवििताओं के सार् पुन:
पेश ककया िा सकता है।)
