To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to recommend Ms. Diane Hunt for a teaching position. I have been teaching
for twenty-two years, nine of those years have been with the Poway Unified School District in
San Diego, CA. I came to know and work with Ms. Hunt during the 2015-2016 school year.
Ms. Hunt is a teacher-candidate with California State University, San Marcos. Ms. Hunt has
been working with me and my 4th grade students from January 2016 to the present.
Overall, Ms. Hunt has demonstrated excellent knowledge of the classroom curriculum and
has integrated the new Common Core State Standards in her lessons. She has identified the
core objectives and executed thoughtful and complete lessons. As a teacher-candidate, Ms.
Hunt worked with students in a whole group, small group, and in one-on-one settings. In
addition, Ms. Hunt was able to teach in a unique collaborative, a 1 to 1 device classroom
dynamic. Ms. Hunt worked with me and participated in all the aspects and duties of the day
including, team-planning, staff meetings, record keeping, grading, data disaggregation,
professional growth training, curriculum training, IEP meetings, and parent-teacher
conferences. In addition, Ms. Hunt closely planned with me to create differentiated math and
reading groups. Ms. Hunt also assisted me with supervising and guiding a Challenge math
group.
Ms. Hunt interacted with all 31 fourth-graders. Her lessons focused on essential areas in
reading, and math that were relative to the grade-level standards. Her lessons demonstrated
creativity and held interest among the students. The students were observed interacting with
enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. Ms. Hunt maintained excellent student and classroom
management.
At a personal level, Ms. Hunt is a hard-working, punctual, friendly, positive, caring, person.
She has a great disposition with children, she is flexible, and a great team player. Ms. Hunt
has a clear understanding and awareness of diverse student populations. She strives to learn
more about meeting the needs of all children.
I feel strongly that Ms. Diane Hunt would be an excellent addition to your teaching staff. She
brings many talents and a deep concern for children in their quest for learning. I would
therefore recommend Diane Hunt as a teacher at your school.
