Linking your classroom to the wider world
Are you making the right connections? In this session we will learn ways of linking songs, stories and school subjects to empower language acquisition. This will energise your teaching and make your students’ classroom experience more relevant to their everyday lives. We will also look at some ways of teaching important life skills and values, thereby building the learning community in your classes. Transform the way young learners see English and develop language ability by exploring the powerful connections all around them.

recommend
Diane
Hunt

an
elementary
school
teacher.
As
her

teacher,
I
had
the
pleasure
of
supervising
Ms.
Hunt
from
August
2015
to
December
2015
in
my
kindergarten
class
at
Stone
Ranch
Elementary
School.
From
Ms.
Hunt’s
first
day
back
in
August,
she
possessed
a
positive
and
enthusiastic
personality.
She
not
only
had
a
great
rapport
with
my
students,
but
with
the
parents
as
well.
She
arrived
to
school
on
time
every
day
and
was
always
well
dressed.
During
Ms.
Hunt’s
time
in
my
class,
she
had
the
chance
to
teach
whole
group
and
small
group
lessons.
Ms.
Hunt
and
I
met
each
week
to
discuss
the
content
that
would
be
covered,
as
well
as
addressing
which
standards
would
be
covered.
Ms.
Hunt
created
great
hands-‐on
activities
for
the
students,
which
kept
the
students
engaged
throughout
her
lessons.
My
students
were
very
fortunate
to
have
Ms.
Hunt
as
one
of
their
teachers.
She
has
such
a
passion
for
teaching
and
my
students
benefited
from
this
in
so
many
ways.
I
am
confident
that
Ms.
Hunt
will
be
an
asset
to
any
staff
she
works
with.
She
is
confident,
knowledgeable,
and
has
the
skills
of
a
strong
teacher.
I
believe
she
will
continue
to
grow
and
become
even
more
effective
as
a
teacher
with
further
opportunities.
Please
feel
free
to
contact
me
if
you
have
any
questions.
Sincerely,
Kris
