What is Technoculture?
Techno + culture
As per oxford dictionary it is, “A culture as informed or
defined by its technological activity, especially a
culture characterized by a high level of technological
development; (also) the practices, attitudes, etc.,
characteristic of those proficient in the use of
information technology.

Risk society by Ulrich Beck
Ulrich Beck, a German sociologist who talks
about ‘Risk society’ in his work “Risk Society:
Towards a New Modernity.”
Beck says, risks are not real, it is about
becoming real, and as soon as risks become
real, it becoms disasters.
Here we are looking at risks in technoculture
society.

Beck’s Solution
Politics must be about being able to communicate between the system.
There should be transparency.
The representatives of the people are no more accountable to people.
They refer only to each other in debates that are increasingly disconnected from
the opinions/criticisms/demands of the people.

Conclusion
We are living in the world of technoculture and
in this world there is infinite chain of problems
– solutions – problems, and we all are keep
living with the hanging sword on our head.
