3. FUELFILLINGSTATION
To design
a fuel filling station, which has a
site area of 3000sq. mts. Hence
the site is located in Trichy and
Chennai highway .the main aim
of the project is to understand
the spatial organisation between
different functiions. Hence this
includes functions like hotel for
30 people ,ATM ,automative
store which sell tha vehicles oils
etc, office which has manager
cabin and waiting room ,and a
convenience store which sells all
food items for the travellers and
workers room for both male and
female

4. The factory to survive into the
future,requires newideas and
strategies to prepare for a difficult .The
ownership have decided to invest in
Research and Developement centre that
will help the old products and process to
upgrade, and provide the world with new
and cutting edge ideas in the world of
terracotta products.the main aim of the
project is to sustain the factory with the
help of introducing some functions into
the factory, thar every people come and
spend a day with it .
hence this include functions like
Research and Developement centre
Residence for artists and craft person
Guest room for short term visitors
Incubation centre
Admin office
Material museum
Jetty
Community kitchen
Documentation of the factory
Study about essence of the factory

5. Hence the context is, there were clay
mounds kept near the given site ,so I
created some similar mound near to that
and start carving the building inside the
mound .This is a clay mound having
multiple scoops inside it ,these scoops
transformed from one level to the other
converted into different functions like
Research and Developement centre
and Incubation centre.and other part of
the function fitted into the existing
structure like Admin ,Residence for
potters,Community kitchen,and Material
museum.and these function all togethrt
to form a Institutions to sustain a factory.

Manaparai - a town amidst the rural
hinterland located an hour from the temple
city of trichirapalli.
Purpose :To reinvigorate sandhai
in a correct context of globalization, cattle
market is self organised br the farmers and
traders ,this has evolved over years .in spite
of all challenges this market ia great source
of revenue to the town of manaparai.
what kind of facility needs to be provide to
sustain the old practice?

Thayanur is avillage located near the
trichrapalli.Thisvillageconsistofmorethan1500
famalies. In this village we did all the mappings
and documentation of some houses based on
material of constructin .In this I did mud house
and machu veedu .This enables to learn the lot
about construction technique,arrangement of
house ,organisation of those things.
These are the drawing of architecture design developement and building
construction ,in this we learn about materials construction and joinery detais
of steel structures and aluminium joineries ,timber joineries and reinforced
cement concrete details. In the ADD we lern about the drawings that is used in
site, like centreline drawing ,brick work for every 1m level ,excavation drawing
etc.

11. UNDERSTANDING R.C.C
A workshop on alternative materials and
appropriate sustainable technologies
explored
Mud
Bamboo
Concrete debris
Lime
A nine day long intense workshop,to
design a bamboo space frame that act as a
pause point along the route of hostel
complex with in the campus. There were a
discussions of material choises,joineries and
structure followed by live demonstrationon
the first four days.
FIVE MILE RADIUS
We were exposed to different grades of cement,
concrete mix propotions,applications on admixtures
used in concrete, thumb rules of designing beams and
different grades of steel available in market .we also
experienced in concrete construction technique hands
on by casting a
Beam
Ferrocement dome
Filler slab
Footing
and a cube test for testing the strength of the
concrete over its curing period was also undertaken
WORKSHOPS
12. The idea of the workshop is to make the car parking
for four cars inside the campus for along span parking
structures with bay length of 40 feet by 20 feet .the
challenge involved evolving an orthogonal system,
replete with joinery and an aesthetic idiom amidst
such restriction of length .the hightlight of the design
was the developement of an assemblage of elements
that coulb be bolted on site to excute striuctures .the
detail of leveling using asolid bamboos that are more
linear bamboo space to aid joinery act as an aesthetic
element
BAMBOO CAR PARKING
A hands on workshop on upscaling used tyres into play
furniture .In this we were exposed to working with the
materialandlearnitspotentialsandlimitations.Thisin-
cludes tyre and rope were combined together to form
a play furniture .The tyre were drilled with 24 holes on
the periphery and for the height two tyres were bolted
together .An intersting part in this workshop is
weaving a rope in different order and that form a
different pattern for seatings.
PLAY WITH SCARPS
13. An exploration of the construction and technique
of timberal vaulting .this workshop that ended in a
building . Hence this is an experimental stage called
phase1 to express the lost technique of timberal or
thin tile vaulting .hence the sustainability from the
roman mathod of vault building by defying GRAVITY
based on several layers of tiles that fuse together to
work as a laminated shell, the thin profile of the
timbrel vaults are to be seen believed . Hence the first
layer of tile is pased with the mixture of plaster of par-
is and sand in a ratio of 1:2 and the second and third
layers is pasted with the cement by keeping the tile in
alternate directions .
TIMBERALVAULTING[PHASE 1]
And this is the final phase of timberal vaulting
that is excuted in the site.It consist of seven
continuous vaults combine to form a ring.out of
this one vault was constucted with the height of
3.5m at the front and4.5m inside it .Hence the small
scale which done in the phase 1 was converted into
large scale.Thes vaults also consist of three layers
of tile that all together to form a thin layer of shell.
and the form are done with grid size of1mx1m and
16,10,8mm rods are used in formwork of this vault.
