ENERGY HOUSE
Project type : Advanced Architectural Design Studio (Environment)
01
Location : Adelaide, SA
Software's used : Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Photoshop, Sefaire
Advanced Architectural Design Studio (Environment) asks to consider sustainable
architecture and design in response to natural conditions such as climate and
diurnal patterns, as well as how our actions impact the natural world through our
use of energy and materials. I was required to undertake group research into passive
and active design strategies which include orientation, configuration of internal
spaces, ventilation, shading, rain water, grey water, Solar panels, solar hot water
heater, hyper insulation, advanced composite materials, lighting, dynamic thermal
mass, air conditioning systems, electric vehicles, and other systems and
technologies required to achieve a fully functioning, liveable, zero energy house.
This house is a practical response to improving domestic living conditions in Australia
in a way that minimises negative impacts on the natural environment.
A house that uses no more energy than it is capable of producing on site

Project type : Architectural Design Studio 10 (UrbanScape)
Location : Kentown, Adelaide, SA
Software's used : AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, V-ray, Photoshop
This is the culminating project for the year, which has two foci. The first is to develop
an overall urban schema in which each of the projects is located, as a future vision for
Kent Town, and for the life of each of your individual schemes. This part is akin to
the ‘Master Plan’ scope of architectural practice and though demonstrated through
individual submissions will include some collaborative work, to reflect the polyvalent
nature of urban design practice. The second task is to conceive and communicate an
urban plan for Kent Town that contains and connects meaningfully - free space from
Ads 9 and Inside out from Ads 10 as a freshly curated suite of propositions. As
ADS_10 expands focus to consider urban space, the broader built world and ‘wicked
problems’ associated with our cities and the whole planet, how can you grasp the
challenges of entropy and transformation in the modern built environment?

7. These two interventions were holistic,
imaginative and evidence based. It
foregrounds on how I have responded to
the tenets of Freespace and repair , and the
observation from Grafton Architects that
architecture has a “role in the choreography
of daily life.”
This proposal was so much appreciated by
with jury members that one of them said “ I
would love to take a evening walk over this

Inside Out – Acute House project
P r o p o s i t i o n
The SPECULATION component foregrounds the production of spatial artefacts as a research
tool; the PROPOSITION component synthesises those findings with the freespace project to
anticipate and define the parameters for the next Inside_OUT assignment. Series of pitched
roofs create a sense of direction, sense of security and psychological warmth.
This project required synthesis of out previous SPECULATION findings with the freespace project
to outline a brief for a ‘house-scaled manifesto’ that deals with the detailed, interior scale of
architectural practice.
My client for this project was Chris Kourakis, a Greek Australian lawyer and judge, chief
justice of supreme court of south Australia. His hobbies include cars/bikes, running,
swimming and reading but he also had very negative publicity at times.
Inspired by the result obtained by the speculation of pitched roofs shown above. All
those findings are crucial for my client so I decided to propose Acute House for him
which helped to take my speculation turned into proposition.

This studio project challenged to take a series of competing briefs, hotel, arboretum,
gallery, commercial and public spaces, and bring them together into an overall,
integrated scheme. The site for the project was the eastern edge of the old Royal
Adelaide Hospital site adjacent to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. To achieve this, we
were required to commence with the basic structure of the East Wing building as it
is currently configured.

Location : Kentown, Adelaide, SA
Software's used : AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Photoshop
Architectural Design studio 9 contribute to the current urgent debate about
sustainable, affordable, inclusive cities that respond better to changing demographic
and environmental pressures. The task was to take a neighbourhood block of 20
allotments of predominantly single houses on single lots, develop denser prototypes
of either 1-3 storeys or 4 – 6 storeys for two allotments only, and roll them out
across the overall block. The design task is to meet community, urban and
environmental challenges in South Australia.
