1. Evaluation question 4: How
did you use media
technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?
2. Research and planning
O I used IMDb to find out information about
certain films.
O I used Youtube and Google images to get
material to analyse. Youtube for the trailer
analysis. Google images for the magazine
and poster analysis.
3. O I used Microsoft Word to create a
questionnaire for audience research and I
used Microsoft Excel to create pie charts
and column charts for the results.
4. Construction
O For the construction part of my trailer I used a
camcorder, tripod, dolly and headphones. I used the
tripod because it allowed me to make sure that the
camera was still and the shot was in the centre. The
dolly was very useful in helping me move the camera
and tripod to different nearby locations. Furthermore,
the headphones helped me to hear the sound clearly
so if there was anything wrong with the diegetic
sound I would know and would fix it.
O I was working on an iMac so I used Final Cut Pro,
Garage Band and Motion to create my three
products.
5. O I imported the trailer footage on Final cut pro
then started to edit it until I was happy with
the final product.
O When I finished editing the trailer footage
and I was happy with it, I exported it into a
quick time movie format and then uploaded
it onto YouTube and also placed it on the
blog.
6. O For my poster and magazine front cover, I
took the picture using a digital camera, then
imported it into Photoshop. Then I edited the
pictures by using some of the tools such as
the dodge tool and also by adding text.
O When I was happy with the final products, I
saved them as pictures and put them up
onto the blog.
7. Evaluation
O I created a Slideshare for questions 1 and 4.
I wrote my answers for questions 1 and 4 on Microsoft PowerPoint as a
presentation and input a design to make it look appealing. Then I uploaded
it onto Slideshare and embedded the code onto WordPress.
O I created a Prezi for question 2.
I wrote my answer for question 2 on Microsoft Word and then when I was
happy with it I transferred it onto Prezi. Prezi is a good way to showcase
your work because it gives you a variety of appealing templates for you to
use and also gives you the option to make your own design. Using a Prezi is
better than having your work shown on Microsoft Word or Microsoft
PowerPoint because it’s a more interesting way to showcase your work.
O I created a SoundCloud for question 3.
I wrote my answer for question 3 on Microsoft Word and then I recorded
myself reading it on Audacity. Then when I was happy with the recording, I
uploaded it onto SoundCloud.
8. Overall
O I have used WordPress throughout the whole
progress by putting my research and
planning, construction, evaluation and final
products on it. WordPress is good because it
allows you to add text and change the font
and colour of it. This allows you to make the
blog look like you want it to. It also allows
you to ‘Add Media’ if you have the media
product on your computer or embed the
code if the media product is online.
