This document discusses open textbooks and co-creation as an educational approach. It begins with an agenda for the session which will include a case study on open practices and feedback. It then defines an open textbook and lists benefits such as improved quality, flexible access to information, interactive learning experiences, currency of information, professional collaboration, and use of learning technologies. Creative Commons licensing for open educational resources is also discussed. The document goes on to explore how open textbooks can be implemented in educational practice and presents attributes of open pedagogy such as participatory technologies, sharing ideas, innovation, and learner-generated content.
