Every opportunity that comes your way is not necessarily the best opportunity for you.
Just because you feel stuck doesn’t mean you are stuck.
How does the opportunity fit into your overall goals
Evaluate where you want to go and where you are so you know what opportunities to pursue to increase your visibility and ultimately your discoverability
How do you extend your reach in your community?
Start at home. Check out local events and network your way into special projects, collaborations and speaking gigs
Be of service to an organization that needs your skill set, but does not have the resources
Exchange expertise for exposure (mentions in their newsletters, inclusion in website, etc)
When was the last time you Googled yourself?
What shows up?
Is this what you want to be known for?
What do your social media platforms say about you?
You can learn a lot about a person by looking at their Instagram, Twitter or Facebook feeds
Seek out local speaking opportunities to hone your speaking skills and establish authority.
Have someone record you speaking or take pictures and use to increase your social footprint
When I am scouting for speakers, I check to see if you have experience speaking or where you have been lately sharing your expertise
Conferences are looking for dynamic speakers who know their stuff
Having the desire to speak does not mean you are good at it. Practice.
Local or smaller speaking venues are great for perfecting your delivery
