The brand identity for Element water was designed to convey the crystal clear source of the water. The logo lists the basic elements of water - H2O - in the format of the periodic table. The light blue color of the brand reflects the hue of the Canadian Rockies. The tagline references the weather that produces clear water and dares customers to try the ice cold water. The label layout follows the periodic table theme with the brand name referencing hydrogen and oxygen. Information is included on the back label using the periodic table format. Marketing collateral included social media images and a basic business card design in need of revisiting.

Element Natural Spring Water
1.
2. Branding, Packaging, Product, Marketing Collateral
When creating the brand identity and logo for Element, I knew I needed to convey the crystal
clear source of the water & tie it somehow into the product itself. I came upon the idea of
listing the basic elements of water as a way to convey this message. Originally thinking that this
would just mean placing H2O as the label name, I realised that this was dull and uninspired.
Delving into the Element theme further, I recalled the layout of the periodic table and proceeded
to use this format to layout the basic elements of water & the label design.
The brand color itself, a light blue, cyan color is a reflection of the same hue I seen when researching
the Canadian Rockies, as with the hero image above. The tag line is a reference to the formidable
weather that allows the natural snow-melts to produce such crystal, clear waters. It also dares the
customer to try the water, ice cold from the fridge.

6. Label & Packaging Design
The label layout is themed after the periodic table of elements. With the brand name
referencing the two Hydrogen & Oxygen molecules that make up the chemical compound of
water. Printed using Futura Bold & Regular fonts in black on clear labels, this allows the buyer
to see through the label to the water inside the glass bottle.
The periodic table of element theme is extended to the back label layout too. As with any
beverage or consumable product, the label should have room for certain information. Utilising
the periodic layout look, I was able to ensure there was room for things like the bottled by
address, the mineral content, required governmental regulatory information, and the UPC.

10. Marketing Collateral
This project did not need a lot of marketing collateral. I created social media images, like the
hero image at the top of this post & the image directly above to be used across social media
accounts, the only other application created was a business card look. This is less visually on
brand than the rest of the images or the product packaging and is something we will need to
revisit later.
