I am working towards my EngTech qualification, once completed I will be
undertaking the next steps towards gaining my IEng/Ceng qualification
through the Institute Of Highway Engineers. I am proficient in Microsoft Office,
all programmes including MS Project. I have vast knowledge and experience
in setting out of works, supervising and mentoring junior or trainee’s
engineers, supervising subcontractor(s) on the project and ensuring
adherence to company policies including health and safety. I have worked
alongside the project quantity surveyor where appropriate to ensure
measurements and valuation to data is accurate in respect of variation
orders/compensation events and site instructions (either for Client driven

Jan 17 to date: Grontmij/Sweco (Graham’s Construction), Design Site Representative
(DSR)
Design Site Representative responsible for the D&B M32 works including
provision of a bus-only access to and from the M32 in the vicinity of
Stoke Lane, together with the extension of the existing dedicated
southbound bus lane along A4032 for the technical response to the
Contractors Technical Queries and Material Acceptance Requests where
deviations from the original specification are encountered. I am also
responsible for clarifications and design amendments issued through
Designer’s Instructions resulting from such queries or information
supplied which is contrary to original design assumptions. I liaise daily
with the Contractor’s Senior Site Management to ensure the timely
supply of construction information to the contractor. I co-ordinates the
responses to the Technical Queries raised by the Contractor ensuring the
queries are responded to within the timescale required. I decides upon
the complexity of such queries and determines whether the query should
be referred back to the respective designer or if he I am able to respond
myself on the designers behalf. I over see the design documentation
supplied by the designer to check that the Design Team have verified
compatibility between the various design disciplines. As an integral part
of my supervisory responsibilities I review pertinent information to ensure
acceptability and complete the relevant Construction Certification
procedures.
Church Lane Footbridge (Metrobus Contract G) (2017 – Present)
Design Site Representative for the delivery of a two span structure
comprising a welded steel bowstring Warren truss deck supported on
existing concrete bank seat abutments and intermediate pier. The
scheme also includes a 68m long retaining wall with a maximum retained
height of 2.6m beneath the bridge on the north side. The works are
required to accommodate the widening of the A4174 carriageway which
forms part of the wider East Fringe Widening project. All DSR duties are
outlaid above and are applicable to this contract

Church Lane, North Fringe to Hengrove Metro Bus - Zone 4 M32 Bus
Only Junction And M32 South Bound Bus Lane.Cost Value £13millon,
the works comprise the design and construction of a new bus-only
junction south the existing M32 Junction 1 (Avon Ring Road) providing
access to the M32 via a new southbound entry and northbound exit slip
roads together with new advance direction signs, modification to the
existing road layout to accommodate a southbound bus lane between
M32 Junction 3 (Easton) and the existing bus lane on A4032
Newfoundland Way, removal and replacement of an existing footbridge
over the A4174, road restraint systems, alterations and re-alignment of
carriageway road markings, accommodation works for affected land
owners, undertakers work and private apparatus work at various
locations, landscaping and environmental mitigation works, earthworks,
pedestrian/cycle facilities, road lighting, drainage works, site clearance,
archaeological mitigation and new road access roads. As the Inspector of
works my role on site is to assist the Designer’s Site Representative and
Quality Assurance Engineers in fulfilling their responsibilities to assist in
the supervision of the construction of the Works. I witness all activities
relating to the construction to ensure the activities are undertaken in
accordance with the Specifications, Method Statements and Construction
Procedures and prepare reports (Graham Construction Quality Forms) on
the witnessed activities for submission to the Quality Assurance
Engineers. I advise on the requirement for “Hold Points” within the
Contractor’s Method Statements beyond which activities cannot continue
without approval from the DSR and the client site representatives. I will
review the detail of the design documentation to ensure accuracy and
sufficiency of information to enable the proper execution of the works. I
will write a daily site report/diary recording the major activities/actions on
site and report directly to the Designer’s Site Representative.
Oct 14 to Dec 15: Fitzgerald Civil Contractors, Site Senior Engineer
Engineer on several sites including setting out of Wollaston bridge (£5.55m)
on Taylor Wimpey housing development; Jaguar Land Rover (£3.7m)
section 278 works involving new entrance to car park, junction across dual
carriage way, drainage installation and traffic signal instalments; Belwell
Homes (£2.5m) section 278 works involving bell mouth into new
development of houses, build out on the main carriageway, installation of
new bus shelters, and traffic signal installation; and Dudley High Street
(£2.7million) involving new market stalls set out, new paved high street and
installation of new statues. Also ensured all utilities companies,
subcontractors and direct staff complete the work as per their method
statement. Supervised all works taking place on site, and ensured all works
were carried out in a safe manner and to the current H&S regulations.
Engineer based on site for the Kidderminster Road Hagley Road
roundabout. Supervised section 278 works involving the realignment of the
existing roundabout, constructing the access for the development of a
housing estate of 300 houses. This involves new street lighting, traffic
signals, Tarmac to the roundabout and new access road into housing
development (value £2.5m). Setting out for the kerb line strings, duct runs,
drainage runs and installation of the traffic lights, street lights and signage

on the project. Ensured all the subcontractors, utilities companies and direct
staff on site follow the method statements.
Jul 13 to Oct 14: GeorgeLaw Ltd, Site Engineer
Oasis Academy/Housman Hall – Setting Out Engineer
£3.3m redevelopment of Bromsgrove School’s student accommodation
buildings and Oasis Academy school extension. Involved setting out all
access roads, drainage, foundations up to DPC and the reconstruction of
a listed wall for both the above. Kept all QA up to date on a daily basis
and made sure all work was done to the best possible standards.
Ensured all work was done as per method statements and specifications
and that the installation of all utilities to the student block was done in a
safe manner, to the correct specification and method statement.
2006 to Jun 13: Interserve Project Services Ltd, Site Engineer
A43 Corby
The construction of a 6.5km dual carriageway between Barford Bridge on
the A6003 and Stanion Roundabout on the A43 Corby. This includes
associated side road construction on Geddington Road, Newton Road,
Little Oakley Road, Longcroft Road and overbridges at Newton Road and
Little Oakley Road, Accommodation Bridge at Featherbed Lane and
Harpers Brook culvert and flood relief structures.
Site Engineer for the construction of the highways, including setting out of
drainage works, road box cut and formation, issue of permits, making sure
the subcontractors carried out the works to current method statements,
specification and QA for highways works.
Client – Highways Agency, Northampton County Council, NEC 3 Option
C - Value - £24m.
M5 Tewkesbury Rd – Highways Agency
The project was to carry out structural concrete repairs to Tewkesbury
Road Underbridge.
Responsible for the setting out of; site establishment, clearance &
demolition, access scaffold and traffic management.
Also worked on concrete repairs by using high pressure water jetting to
remove the concrete and replace with a flowable repair concrete.
Sandwell Infrastructure & Construction Eagle Recovery Centre
Setting-Out Engineer for the eagle recovery centre section of the project.
This involved the development of a Recovery Centre including a waste
transfer building with associated access roadways, storage,
hardstanding’s, landscaping and weighbridges, and a separate staff office
and welfare building both with associated parking.

spaghetti junction ahead of the concrete repairs to be carried out.

M1 J35 to J35A Central Reserve Barrier Replacement
Works involve drainage repairs to the central reservation and hard
shoulder, installation of concrete channel, new carrier drain and filter
drains, installation of a concrete safety barrier, renewal of verge safety
fencing, installation of new road markings, surfacing around new installed
concrete.

Works involved the grade separation of 6 junctions involving earthworks,
drainage, and construction of new bridges, surfacing, safety fencing,
street lighting and accommodation works.
