Job Title: Attorney Advisor โ Job Number 4497 Series/Grade: LA.0905.14
Synopsis: This position has responsibility for handling complex and difficult legal,
contracting matters for assigned procurements across the District of Columbia.
The Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP): OCP is a dynamic public agency,
managing the acquisition of over $5.6 Billion in goods, services, and construction

77 District Government agencies through contract and procurement with industry. Our
Procurement Training Institute (PTI) offers thousands of classroom hours each year
educating and training OCP employees in procurement best practices, current laws and
regulations and business advisory skills when engaging with Districts agencies and the
vendor community. OCPโs resourceful team also identifies ways to reuse millions of dollars
in surplus property by offering it to District agencies, and when there is no need within the
government, our team allows businesses, non-profits and sometimes individuals to
purchase government surplus assets at deep discounts. OCPโs team of professionals

Job Description: The incumbent in this position reviews various legal documents and
relevant case laws to determine whether execution or non-execution of proposed
actions is in the best interest of the District of Columbia Government. This position also
has responsibility for providing statement of reasons and drafting language necessary
to obviate objections.
Knowledge Required by the Position: In-depth knowledge of several titles of law, agency
policies, regulations and procedures; Federal and State laws related to functions of the
Office/Division/Section; as well as precedent agency and judicial decisions. Skill in
interpreting and applying legal knowledge in various situations.
Highly developed skills in the analysis and resolution of difficult legal issues in an orderly,
systematic, and effective manner.
Qualifications (Education and/or Experience): Must have a law degree. Must have one
year of related specialized experience at or equivalent to the LA-0905-13.
Other Significant Facts: Must be a member of the District of Columbia Bar or eligible for
waiver into the bar.

Starting Salary Range: $114,171 - $125,595
Tour of Duty: 8:15am โ 4:45pm
Duration of Appointment: Regular Full-Time
