2. SWIMMING
• Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that
requires the use of one's entire body to move
through water. The sport takes place in pools or
open water.

• Evidence of recreational
swimming in prehistoric
times has been found, with
the earliest evidence dating
to Stone Age paintings from
around 10,000 years ago.

5. SWIMMING
• The different types of
swimming styles and
strokes mainly include
the freestyle stroke,
backstroke,
breaststroke, butterfly
stroke, and sidestroke.

6. SWIMMING
• Swimming each stroke requires a set of specific
techniques; in competition, there are distinct regulations
concerning the acceptable form for each individual stroke.
There are also regulations on what types of swimsuits,
caps, jewelry and injury tape that are allowed at
competitions. Although it is possible for competitive
swimmers to incur several injuries from the sport, such
as tendinitis in the shoulders or knees, there are also
multiple health benefits associated with the sport.

7. THE BASIC RULES OF SWIMMING?
• All movements of the arms shall be simultaneous
and in the same horizontal plane without
alternating movement. After the start and after
each turn, the swimmer may take one arm stroke
completely back to the legs.

• Softball is a bat-and-ball sport
played between two teams of 10
players. It is a direct descendant of
baseball although there are some
key differences: softballs are larger
than baseballs, and the pitches are
thrown underhand rather than
overhand. Softball is played on a
smaller diamond than in baseball.

10. SOFTBALL HISTORY
• It is generally agreed that
softball developed from a game
called indoor baseball, first played
in Chicago in 1887. It became
known in the United States by
various names, such as kitten ball,
mush ball, diamond ball, indoor–
outdoor, and playground ball.
