Profile
Fully qualified Continuous Improvement Technical Coordinator/Maintenance
Engineer with experience primarily in the Manufacturing Industry and Mechanical
sector. Confident and highly motivated individual, uses own initiative and shows
willingness to take on new responsibilities. Excellent communication skills and a key
team player with the flexibility and ability to adapt to changing environments.
Achievements
Through SMED improved change over times on case packer from 1.5 hrs down to
20 min. This was achieved through removing waste (NVA time) and modifying
change parts to be quick release. The modification to these parts led to the M/C
manufacturers copying the designs and using them on new M/C’s ordered by the
company.
Implemented new web tracking device using a servo actuator, rotary positioning
sensor and light curtain. This replaced the old pneumatic type that was unreliable
and expensive to run. The new system was also a third of the cost for the initial
outlay.
Identified areas for process improvement, making modifications and implementing
SMED to a number of machines achieving an overall increase of bottle line
efficiency of 100%.
Developed ideas for improving and modifying capping machine in order to reduce
the volume of breakage of glass bottle necks, thus reducing wastage and down
time and improving the machine efficiency
Involved in the installation and commissioning of three new packaging lines,
liaising with suppliers and the project team to complete the install on time and
within budget.
Took ownership to identify the cause of a high level of stoppage time on
aSanatogen lines wrapper. Through detail modification and timing adjustment the
efficiency was improved by 30%.
Produced maintenance and training SOP’s for Engineers and Operators on three
new packaging lines, these were then trained out to all relevant personnel.
2. Completed Six Sigma green belt: Project was to increase the output on a
packaging line by 50%. This has been achieved and surpassed along with
reducing variance, improving CTP and reduction in labour costs.
Run 5’s workshops to promote the lean culture to staff on site.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers to implement projects on site including
procurement.
