The Duty Engineer manager is responsible for providing line management and leadership to a team of

This position is in the finishing and surface applications department of a large paper manufacturing
company. Leading a team of day and shift engineers making sure they work to safe systems of work
and safe operating procedures correctly.
This role requires implementing Planned Preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules with in the
department, also setting up planned lubrication and Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) schedules.
Working closely with the production managers to adhere to the PPM routines so keeping downtime on
machinery to a minimum. Introducing in house modifications to the machinery to improve downtime for
production and reduce cost of engineering equipment. Working with the project department to assist in

downtime reports.
Working closely with the engineering apprentices making sure they adhere to common engineering
practices with in the company.

inspection systems, installation of all production equipment.
Making sure all engineers work safely. Working with the area manager making sure planned work was

As the resident electrical craftsman as well, this was to make sure all electrical equipment was
maintained to a high standard, also Assess the apprentices as they came to the area as qualified as a D32
and D33 assessor.
