1. For this focus group research I interviewed 6 people (2 Females and 4 males) aged either 16 or 17 about what they would like to see in a new rock/indie magazine. Here’s what they said they would like to see: - Shaded colours and tones, - Small amount of colour on texts, - Interviews on bands - Competitions (with very easy answers!) - Cool graphics (Kerrang! styled) - Text aimed for younger people (not old people) - Reviews on gigs, DVDs, albums etc - Dates of gigs - Less of a number of adverts - Lots of pictures - Not an over large amount of text - How to do hair and makeup (for female artists/bands) - No large empty spaces After doing this focus research I will attempt to include as many of these features into my magazine. I will use shaded colours and have them on a small amount for my font and text (preferably black, red and white to give my rock-styled magazine a more “dangerous look”), an interview shall be included on my double page spread as well as a competition. I will also apply some of my photoshop knowledge to make them the text font and graphics look aesthetic and as my research has described also based on Kerrang!’s graphics and I’ll try to use as much room up without the pages looking too crowded or too bare.
