2. Rationale:
■ The fundamental reason for this study is the impact of online
platforms and the teaching strategies of teachers. Teachers
have experience and strategies and they are now encountering
challenges in how to apply their skills through new mode of
teaching─ online teaching─ with the use of online platforms.
■ With the new mode of learning, teachers have realized that
they need to update their teaching skills in order to
accommodate to the needs of students, as well as updating
their teaching portfolio.
■ With the rise of the pandemic and the sudden announcement that
education will be moved online, teachers had to create their
“virtual classroom” from scratch.
■ An online learning platform is an integrated set of
interactive online services that provide trainers, learners,
and others involved in education with information, tools and
resources to support and enhance education delivery and
management. One type of E-Learning platform is a learning
management system (LMS).
3. ■ Teachers are expected to participate in the online distance
education as part of their duty as faculty and staff of the
institution. However, a number of these instructors are
hesitant to convert their traditional mode of teaching to an
online format. This is due to lack of support, assistance,
supplies, and training. (Allen & Seaman, 2008; Keengwe, Kidd,
& Kyei-Blankson, 2009)
■ In a survey conducted by Brogden and Couros (2002), Grosse,
(2004), and Lorenzetti, (2004) suggest that the time and
effort demands to develop online courses and to learn new
technologies are also causes for faculty member’s
frustrations. Additionally, some faculty members may resist
online teaching because they are concerned that those courses
may require more time for advanced planning (Matsom, 2006).
■ Graham, Henrie and Gibbons (2013) reviewed this issue as
related to instructional technology and recommended a three-
part taxonomy first proposed by Gibbons and Bunderson (2005)
that includes theories that: § Explore: “What exists?” and
attempts to define [describe] and categorize; § Explain: “Why
does this happen?” and looks for causality and correlation,
and work with variables and relationships. § Design: “How do I
achieve this outcome?” and describes interventions for
reaching targeted outcomes and operational principles (Graham,
Henrie and Gibbons, 2013). (Anthony G. Picciano, 2017)
4. Statement of the Problem

5. The main focus of this study is to know the impact of online platforms to the
teaching strategies of teachers in Filamer Christian University.
Specifically, this study answered the following questions:
1. What is the level of online platforms of teachers of Filamer Christian
University in terms of Facebook, Messenger, Google Classroom, and Google
Meet?
2. What is the level of teaching strategies of teachers of Filamer Christian
University in terms of online activities, class discussions, and exams?
3. Is there a significant difference among the levels of online platforms and
the teaching strategies of teachers of Filamer Christian University teachers?
4. Is there a significant relationship among the levels of online platforms and
the teaching strategies of teachers of Filamer Christian University teachers?
Based on the aforementioned problems, the following hypotheses will be tested:
1. There is no significant difference among the levels of online platforms and
the teaching strategies of teachers of Filamer Christian University teachers?
2. There is no significant relationship among the levels of online platforms and
the teaching strategies of teachers of Filamer Christian University teachers?
6. Delimitation of the Study:
■ This survey-correlational study aims to determine the impact
of online platforms to the teaching strategies of teachers at
Filamer Christian University. The participants of this study
are the randomly selected Senior High School teachers of
Filamer Christian University for the school year 2020-2021.
The data gathered are based on the responses of Senior High
School teachers who will participate in the study.
■ Quota sampling will be used in the identification and
selection of Senior High School teachers. The independent
variable in the study will be the online platforms while the
dependent variable will be the teaching strategies of
teachers.
■ The personal data needed for the study will be gathered using
a researcher-made questionnaire to gather the information on
the participants’ sex, age, subject taught, educational
attainment, work experience, and trainings and/or seminars
attended. Online Platforms and Teaching Strategies will be
measured by a researcher-made questionnaire.

8. ■ This study will be conducted in the school year 2020-2021. Any
changes or progress in details and updated information beyond
the said point are not covered by the framework of this study.
■ Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the defining global health
crisis of time and the greatest challenge humans are facing
right now, because of that, the things or events that should
be carried out face to face, particularly conducting a survey
or research, are temporary halted because of the pandemic.
Thus far, things like this are possible to happen. With the
modern technology or modern media, humans are able to conduct
this study. Surveys are an imperative aspect of many academic
and scholarly programs and projects. By using an online survey
software, humans remove the additional hard work so they can
concentrate on analyzing their findings. With an online survey
software, they have the flexibility to conduct multiple
studies using multiple methodologies, all from a centralized
location.
9. ■ Whether conducting quantitative research with cross-
sectional studies, opinion polls, longitudinal studies,
social attitude questionnaires or qualitative research with
open text surveys, Smart Survey will be able to help.
Surveys can also be used to hone the research methodology.
By sending a pre-test survey to a sample of an audience,
researchers can find out if the questions are easy to
understand and ensure that they are using the best
distribution channel. This will ultimately save the
researcher’s time and increase their survey completion
rates.
■ As of now, Google Forms is the easy and mostly used link
during exams and surveys. It is a survey administration
software that is included in the Google Docs Editors
software suite along with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and
Google Slides. It allows collecting information from users
through surveys. It also provides a fast way to create an
online survey, with responses collected in an online
spreadsheet. In conclusion, the researchers will conduct
their study with the use of different websites,
specifically Google Forms, or apps with the assistance of
their mobile phones, laptop and computers.
