2. PresentationSoftware
Is a computer program used to display information usually
with the use of slideshow.
For example:
pictures, audio, and video
3. ELEMENTS OF A PRESENTATION SOFTWARE
1. Slides – These are the individual panes that contain any mixture of text,
images, video, animation, links and sound.
2. Animation effects – These are visual styles applied to the content of
slides. Once and then used throughout the presentation.
3. Slide master – this allows the style (font, font size, background, etc.) to be
set once and then used throughout the presentation.
4. Transitions – These are animation effects that define how the slides enter
and exit the screen.
5. Slide notes – These are text fields that allow the speaker to type notes for
himself or herself.
4. MAKING A PRESENTATION LOOK GOOD
1. Make text large enough – the temptation is to use 12-14 point since you
can read that on your screen while you are typing.
2. Keep it simple – this is easier said that done. Try to stick to only a few font
colors, one for the heading, one for the main text and one for highlighting
key points. Try to stick bullet points. Large paragraphs of text should not
be included, if possible.
3. Pictures – Images can really help to enhance you presentation, if used
correctly. The general rule is one or two appropriate images on slide.
4. Colors – think about the colors you see. Some colors clash with one
another; other colors do not project well onto a screen.
5. Background – think about your choice background. You might like it, but
some backgrounds are so distracting that the audience will find it hard to
focus on the presentation.
