My Experience With My Family
When I think back to my childhood I remember happy experience and how happy my family. For me that happiness lasted until about when I was
in sixth grade because it was the time my parents were going through a divorce. I understood that they stuck together until sister and I were old
enough to understand. At the time that they were going finalizing the divorce it affected my school work a little. I'm already a reserved person a it
is, but it made me lock myself inside out of the room, not speak for a while. I always wanted to be alone and not be bothered, I basically wanted
people to forget I existed because then I knew they wouldn't speak to me. Eventually, even if it took me a while I started to think of it as a good
thing and I got right back into the process of being myself. Things did start to get harder at home because of obviously my dad not living there. We
had to cut back on some things because my mom had to make ends meet. It was a tough time in our house and sometimes even these days it is still
hard financially, but we get through. As I would like to call it my dark days, I sort of lost myself and I still do sometimes. Fast forward I got older
and I still don't like to talk about the divorce, but I have learned to get over it and move and learn that my mom is happier. I loved school growing
up, I remember that I had to switch school after first grade and I was disappointed and upset. I still know people now that I knew since elementary
school. My elementary

My Family : My Own Family Essay
When we think of culture we usually think of a big group of people and we never think that culture is everywhere around us that we don't have to
have a group that consist of many people because it can be form in small groups too. We usually never think that our own family have its own culture.
I used to think that a family just does what it supposed to do and that's exactly what culture is, the way we act, think, feel and even the way we judge is
our own culture. Knowing this I decided that the group that I want to describe is my own family. Which consist of four people, two adults and two
children. We have the head of our house hold which is my husband, he supports our entire family. He works many hours to be able to support us.
Then is me, I attend college full time but am also a mother and I take care of everything at home. Then there 's my older son he is 9 years old and his
only job is to do good in school and help around the house. Then there 's my daughter she is 6 and like her brother her main job is to also do good in
school as well as some chores around the house.
Values are what makes us, there basically the foundation of the family. Most of our values have been passed down from generations before us. We
decide what we choose to pass down to our kids some of the values can be the same just in different order for example for some people religion is very
important it can be in the top 5 of their values but for some is may not be as important and it can be on their

My Family Essay
No one can't meet a family like mine's. My family is well diversified. Every family member plays an important role in all my family's lives. In my
family, there are four people: my father, my mother, my little brother and me. My father is one who brings money home and is also responsible for
organizing and planning family trips. My mother is the one who is in charge for making meals and makes sure everyone eats at the appropriate times.
My little brother is the pet of the family. He actually doesn't have any responsibilities, for he's the pet. I am the rock of support in my family. I always
go beyond my parents' expectations. I also support my younger cousins and little brother, by being a role model that they can look up to. Another...show

Doing what my parents tell me to do is just one of many reasons why I am a rock of support for my family. Not only do I support my parents, but I
also support my younger cousins and brother. As an eldest brother and cousin, I feel I must be a good example for the young ones. There are
numerous methods of showing my cousins and brother support. One main way is by providing advice on making the right choices. For example my
brother had a problem at school with one of his classmates. As a mature and responsible older brother, I advised him to use the non–violent approach. I
told him to go discuss the problem and try to resolve it peacefully. My brother then asked me why he shouldn't fight his classmate. I explained how
violence is the answer to anything. I advised him to first talk to his classmate in a professional manner. If then things get out of hand, I told him to
let the teacher know the situation. In the end, my brother didn't need to get the teacher involved. In fact, their conflict was resolved by talking
through with each other. I also am very supportive of my little cousins. One way I help them out is by tutoring them once in a while. They come
over to my house and I assist them with their school work. Not only I help my cousins with their homework, but I also support them recreationally. I
play various sports and activities with them. As their older cousin/brother, I feel I should be a good role model to follow. I am also known for being there

Descriptive Essay About My Family
My Cozy Home A home is a place where you have lived with your family for so long that it has, in a sense, become a part of you. It can be a
structure, a neighborhood, a state or a country. In my case, when I think of home, I initially think of a building, my house. My home, however, is
much more than just a house to me. It is also the place where I am always sure to find those I love most, my family. In a generation where there are
so many broken homes, I am fortunate to live with and be raised by two parents, who still love each other. I have two older sisters, Sabreena and
Trinity, and a dog, a poodle named Puffs. I live in a quaint, four bedroom house in a subdivision called Steeplechase in Avondale, Louisiana. My
house is a place of safety and refuge. My neighborhood is full of friendly, familiar faces. I have been smiling, waiving and occasionally talking to
these friends and acquaintances since we moved here when I was just two years old. Growing up in this environment has, I'm sure, contributed to
certain character and personality traits, which have made me who I am today. I am ultimately a trusting individual, who is both friendly and
hospitable. You can learn much about a person simply by walking through their home. For example, if you walk through my house, you would
instantly notice framed Bible verses, decorative crosses, inspirational sayings and a trophy case, filled with different types of past accomplishments. In
our living room, there is a

I was born into a "happy" family that was actually a web of lies, which unfolded itself through a divorce. My parents' marriage was based on the
fact that my father needed a permanent residency card to stay in the United States. Some people may view this as a devastating event; however I
have chosen to embrace being an American and a Ghanaian. Coming from two different backgrounds was a challenge, because of the different values
and morals each share. These challenges have left me to understand my true purpose concerning my two cultures. I feel fortunate enough to grow up
with two different aspects on life itself. Throughout life I was considered to be the "one" on both sides of my families. I was the one who was

Such as attending a public college or becoming President of the United States. Education has therefore played an important role in my life and has been
highly valued in my family.
While the expectations of my American and Ghanaian family members were so high, their affirmation was not always there. As a child of divorced
parents, my mother raised and supported me. My father was always there mentally, emotionally, and physically, but I was financially fully
dependent on my mother. Although she had an education, we still struggled. Sometimes we didn't know where our next meal was coming from
and had to rely on others. We moved several times while I was growing up and at times, I would be left at a relative's house because of my mother's
need to get us financially stable. Things improved, I remained committed to working hard in school, and the expectations never changed. Education
has brought me, given me, and gifted me with empowerment, leadership, confidence; greater understanding of social issues and tools to work
towards social justice. As many educators say, education is the key to success. I believe that not only is it the key to success, but it's also the key to
happiness. College will help me meet my high education and career expectations that I have for myself which is to ultimately get my Professional
degree, and make a global difference. It will also help to meet my families as well. College will help me

Personal Note On My Family Essay
Have you ever wanted something so bad and then once you got it, you realize it was not all that it was cracked up to be? When I was little, I wanted
what every other little kid wanted, a sibling. I wanted a little brother to be exact. That is what I asked for every birthday and every Christmas, thinking
my parents could just go to the store and buy one. Finally, one Christmas, my wish came true. I woke up on Christmas morning, bright eyed and
bushy–tailed at 6:30. I ran downstairs and saw all of the presents sitting under our enormous tree. Eager to open them up, I ran into my parent's
bedroom. I climbed up onto their huge, queen size mattress and began jumping up and down, screaming trying to wake them up. After about 5
minutes, they would finally roll out of bed and head to the living room. My dad would always videotape me opening up my presents every year. I
hated it but he always insisted. There was one big box, wrapped in blue wrapping paper with a giant bow, that my parents told me I had to save for
the end. Curious about this mysterious present, I ripped open the rest of the gifts quickly. Eventually, I reached the moment to open the big blue
box. I began to tear off the paper as fast as I could but when I made it to the bare box, I became very nervous. I slowly cut the tape; scared something
might jump out at me. I opened the flaps of the box and out came several blue balloons. After they all flew up to the ceiling, I peeped over into the
box and saw a card. I

My Day With My Family
I believe that I feel the most comfortable when I am home with my family. Any activity we do together is amazing. Whether it's watching a movie
together, having dinner, or having something to talk about. There is always a time of the day where we just have a good laugh about something
that happened throughout the day. I know my family will always be there for me and I will do the same for them. I believe that I am blessed to
have such a loving, caring, and compassionate family. I believe when times are tough, my family is my true comfort. Even if it's the smallest thing
like a headache or stomachache I feel better with just my mom doing anything for me to feel better. I don't need medicine to heal the smallest
pains; all I need is my family's love. I've never looked at another family and thought, "wow they have an amazing relationship, i am jealous".
Sometimes I do the opposite because I never had thought wrong about my family even when we're aggravated sometimes. I remember during the
summer we would have a cookout every single Saturday and Sunday. We would all get together and have my dads "special asadas". Which are a
special steak well done with allot of lime and spices. We would sit there for hours eating and having a beer. We would call close friends that we even
call family. I believe there is no perfect life or perfect family. I believe my family will overcome anything that causes pain or misery. I believe that we
are in full control of our own wellness, both

No name, no face to put with him, heck I don't even know if I look like him. My family and I are different, there are families that don't share the
same situation as having four adopted kids that are all spread apart in age. Yet my family and I push through that and we look past that, people
don't understand they think that coming from different parents would divide us kids by thinking, "hey, you aren't my real brother " That kind of
thing does not happen, if anything being from different parents brings us together because we are so different from each other we are curious to
learn about each other. Some people see it as a tough thing to deal with and I see it as a blessing for my parents, my brothers, and myself to be
unique in this way, and we have always been a religious family so we definitely believe that each one of us kids was a blessing to our parents. The
sacrifice that they make everyday when the go to work to support four kids who they never owed anything, never had to call themselves our

Essay on My Family's Ancestry
Gathering research about my family and its history turned out to be an interesting and insightful opportunity, through which I learned much more than
I expected. When I started this project, I knew that I would not be able to find as much useful information on the Internet as some of my peers. In
effect, I realized that I would have to rely on other primary resources such as my parents and grandparents to reveal the story of my ancestry to me.
After I had interviewed them, my family history became much clearer to me. More than 2 millennia ago, around the 3rd century BC, a group of
Tamil–speaking people from present–day South India migrated to the nearby island of Sri Lanka. Among these people, known today as "Sri Lankan
Tamils", are my...show more content...
The Peninsula has a hot, monsoonal tropical climate characterized by a dry season from February to October and a wet season from October to
January. Because of the monsoons, the region is humid and averages three feet of rain each year, which is relatively low compared to the rest of the
island. The climate of the region allows for many crops to be grown including many varieties of fruits and vegetables.
While interviewing my parents and grandparents, I learned about many customs and aspects of the Sri Lankan Tamil culture. Sri Lankan Tamils are
devotees of the Shaiva sect of Hinduism, mainly worshipping the lord Shiva. The three main cultural festivals celebrated in the area are Thai Pongal
(beginning of the harvest), Chittrai Pongal (Tamil New Year), and Deepavali (Hindu Festival of Lights). In addition, pujas (religious rituals) are
performed for different occasions, such as the death day of an ancestor or the celebration of a certain Hindu deity. It was also a custom to ask the
village astrologer for advice on certain decisions, such as the name of a newborn child.
Paternal Great–Grandparents In the early 1900's, Kadirasaipillai and Vairavipillai Kandappar, my paternal grandmother's parents, were born in the
village of Puloly, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. They were both born into families of the Vellalar caste of Tamil society and went to school at Puttalai

My Personal Statement On My Family
The most influential people to have during a lifetime should have distinct characteristics. Those traits are essential to becoming a multifaceted
person. My family has assisted in my growth and thought process over the years. It is a privilege to have such a group of knowledgeable
individuals accessible to me. My family has given me the discernment of encouragement, financial management, and spirituality. My mother has
always been supportive of all my endeavors. I was taught from an early age that I could achieve all of my desired goals. My intentions needed to be
pure and a fresh perspective would be the key to success. The words "I cannot" were not allowed in our home. My mother set the template of diligence,

Another distinctive trait a person should have in their inner circle is someone who is financially astute. Many stresses are related to money. Being
financially stable can reduce the risk of you contracting a disease. Money allows you to enjoy life and take vacations and it gives you the
opportunity to plan and achieve purchasing higher ticket items. (things such as houses and cars) My sisters played a major role in my
understanding of finances. Some people are turned off by finances, credit reports, and debt. Through experience and schooling, my sisters have
coached and their shared knowledge with me. They taught me how to save money and become debt free. Although I am still mastering these
skills, I have managed to pay off a car a year early by applying the principles given to me. I have applied the knowledge to my finances and I have a
diversified portfolio. The information I have obtained has also been discussed with my friends. This skill is a lifestyle discipline which some have
never mastered. Learning this skill will help you manage your personal finances and is a great skill to add to your resume. It will also lower your
chances of divorce. Over the years, finances have caused many marriages to dissolve. If you want a successful marriage, having a handle of your
finances would be good for your union. It is best for you to expand your understanding of finances at an early age. If you have children, it is best to

Reflective Essay About My Family
Everyone has a story of who they are and how they came to be. We all grow up wanting the perfect family, the perfect parents, perfect house, perfect
siblings, and to top it off, the white picket fence that surrounds the house. Then life sets in and you realize that life is not all rainbows and unicorns.
The people in our life and the environment that we grow up in, is what shapes us to the person we are today. Factors that influence how we are as a
person are our family, parents, and society. I come from a family that is hard to describe. We all get along and know when it is time to unite as a
family but at the same time the moment someone disagrees with one another, sides are chosen and it takes forever for us to make up. My family has

on the other hand, wants nothing but for me to prosper in life and be happy. If I were to describe my mom with one word it would be, fighter.
Everything my mother does is for the benefit of my brother and I. My mother has influenced me in many ways. She has taught me how to stand up for
myself, to not be afraid of things that may frighten me, not to listen to what others have to say about me because in the long run, what I think about
myself is all that matters. My mother is my biggest influencer and supporter and I will be forever grateful that I have such a great mom.
Society today is a huge influential part in everyone's life. Others may say that they are their own person and that no one has affected who they are
as a person because they are, "their own person," but society affects everyone to what they wear, what music they listen to, how they behave, and
many other things. Society has influenced me to stand up for others and to be a voice for those who are too scared to share theirs. I see all over the

The Story Of My Family
The story of my family is one that I do not tell often. Although my entire family may not be in agreement at all ties, I know that there is a purpose
for every single person in my family; there is a reason that I have the ties I do. Each person and each event builds on the continuous story of my life.
Each new day is another chance to embark upon a journey that has the potential to change my life forever. Every time I see my parents, I tell them
that I love them. Life itself is so fragile, and we never know what is in store for the future. When I think of my family narrative, I think of courage,
resilience, love, compassion, joy, difficulty, and many more emotions and reactions. This is the story of my family as it relates to Marriage and
Families today.
My parents were married on January 15, 1994. They have been married for 22 years now, and the beginning of my family was signified on that day.
My parents were married for 2 years before having their first child. Twenty years later, I am still their only child. My mother's pregnancy with me was
filled with stress and unexpected turns. I was born prematurely at two pounds and twelve ounces; an entire two months prematurely. My mom had to
stay with me in the hospital for months because I developed jaundice and other conditions that deteriorated my health. The problems did not end there,
however. I would love to believe that racism and colorism are not issues anymore, but sadly they are even today. The sight of my pale skin led

My Family History
Family history is very important to an individual. By knowing where you come from, you can have a better perspective of your life. Having a clear
understanding of your family background allows you to better appreciate the things that you would normally take for granted. The house, the car, and
the average clothing may look better when one sees the sacrifices their family has made. They will see that their family has worked very hard just so

Family Defined
The word family has changed so much in the past century. A family back in the 1950's was probably considered a husband, wife, and one or more
children. Times have changed and families have become much different. The Interpersonal Communication: Relating to Others book definesfamily as
a, "Unit made up of any number of persons who live in relationship with one another over time in a common living space who are usually, but not
always, united by marriage and kinship" (Beebe, Beebe & Redmond, 243). Families can be broken up into five different types. The first is the

genealogy nut in our family. She has searched for birthdates, marriage licenses, and other documents of her grandparents. I called grandma Lo to get

were Edward Mulcahy and Olga Shermoen. Her father Ed was born on April 15, 1880 in Minneapolis, MN. Ed worked as a claim agent for the Great

Edward was 100% Irish while Olga was 100% Norwegian. This makes my grandma Lorraine 50% Irish & 50% Norwegian. My grandpa Bill was

the door. On the outside this house is full of plant life, two domestic dogs that guard the home from morning to night, and wild animals living off
the provisions of the land. The inside of the house is full of geckos, family, and love. This is the house I was raised in since my mother and father
brought me home from Grady General Hospital in January 1991. This home will forever be my safety and my coziness.
This small family home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, one laundry room, a pantry with a dog kennel built on the side, a kitchen, and a coat closet
in the foyer. The entire house was located on one level except two of the bedrooms which is located down the stairs on the front of the house; the
bedroom to the left down the stairs was my room. My room walls were painted baby blue in color with a bright orange glass sun located over my
headboard that was shaped like skyscrapers in New York City. The carpet that was in my room was as soft as clouds and was milk chocolate brown in
color. The bonus to my bedroom was the walk–in closet that held my black wood book shelf, twelve pairs of shoes, twenty dresses, five pants, and my
brown wooden dresser with a mirror that had old engravings

My Experience With My Family

  • 1. My Experience With My Family When I think back to my childhood I remember happy experience and how happy my family. For me that happiness lasted until about when I was in sixth grade because it was the time my parents were going through a divorce. I understood that they stuck together until sister and I were old enough to understand. At the time that they were going finalizing the divorce it affected my school work a little. I'm already a reserved person a it is, but it made me lock myself inside out of the room, not speak for a while. I always wanted to be alone and not be bothered, I basically wanted people to forget I existed because then I knew they wouldn't speak to me. Eventually, even if it took me a while I started to think of it as a good thing and I got right back into the process of being myself. Things did start to get harder at home because of obviously my dad not living there. We had to cut back on some things because my mom had to make ends meet. It was a tough time in our house and sometimes even these days it is still hard financially, but we get through. As I would like to call it my dark days, I sort of lost myself and I still do sometimes. Fast forward I got older and I still don't like to talk about the divorce, but I have learned to get over it and move and learn that my mom is happier. I loved school growing up, I remember that I had to switch school after first grade and I was disappointed and upset. I still know people now that I knew since elementary school. • 2. My Family : My Own Family Essay When we think of culture we usually think of a big group of people and we never think that culture is everywhere around us that we don't have to have a group that consist of many people because it can be form in small groups too. We usually never think that our own family have its own culture. I used to think that a family just does what it supposed to do and that's exactly what culture is, the way we act, think, feel and even the way we judge is our own culture. Knowing this I decided that the group that I want to describe is my own family. Which consist of four people, two adults and two children. We have the head of our house hold which is my husband, he supports our entire family. He works many hours to be able to support us. Then is me, I attend college full time but am also a mother and I take care of everything at home. Then there 's my older son he is 9 years old and his only job is to do good in school and help around the house. Then there 's my daughter she is 6 and like her brother her main job is to also do good in school as well as some chores around the house. Values are what makes us, there basically the foundation of the family. Most of our values have been passed down from generations before us. We decide what we choose to pass down to our kids some of the values can be the same just in different order for example for some people religion is very important it can be in the top 5 of their values but for some is may not be as important and it can be on their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Family Essay No one can't meet a family like mine's. My family is well diversified. Every family member plays an important role in all my family's lives. In my family, there are four people: my father, my mother, my little brother and me. My father is one who brings money home and is also responsible for organizing and planning family trips. My mother is the one who is in charge for making meals and makes sure everyone eats at the appropriate times. My little brother is the pet of the family. He actually doesn't have any responsibilities, for he's the pet. I am the rock of support in my family. I always go beyond my parents' expectations. I also support my younger cousins and little brother, by being a role model that they can look up to. Another...show more content... Doing what my parents tell me to do is just one of many reasons why I am a rock of support for my family. Not only do I support my parents, but I also support my younger cousins and brother. As an eldest brother and cousin, I feel I must be a good example for the young ones. There are numerous methods of showing my cousins and brother support. One main way is by providing advice on making the right choices. For example my brother had a problem at school with one of his classmates. As a mature and responsible older brother, I advised him to use the non–violent approach. I told him to go discuss the problem and try to resolve it peacefully. My brother then asked me why he shouldn't fight his classmate. I explained how violence is the answer to anything. I advised him to first talk to his classmate in a professional manner. If then things get out of hand, I told him to let the teacher know the situation. In the end, my brother didn't need to get the teacher involved. In fact, their conflict was resolved by talking through with each other. I also am very supportive of my little cousins. One way I help them out is by tutoring them once in a while. They come over to my house and I assist them with their school work. Not only I help my cousins with their homework, but I also support them recreationally. I play various sports and activities with them. As their older cousin/brother, I feel I should be a good role model to follow. I am also known for being there Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Descriptive Essay About My Family My Cozy Home A home is a place where you have lived with your family for so long that it has, in a sense, become a part of you. It can be a structure, a neighborhood, a state or a country. In my case, when I think of home, I initially think of a building, my house. My home, however, is much more than just a house to me. It is also the place where I am always sure to find those I love most, my family. In a generation where there are so many broken homes, I am fortunate to live with and be raised by two parents, who still love each other. I have two older sisters, Sabreena and Trinity, and a dog, a poodle named Puffs. I live in a quaint, four bedroom house in a subdivision called Steeplechase in Avondale, Louisiana. My house is a place of safety and refuge. My neighborhood is full of friendly, familiar faces. I have been smiling, waiving and occasionally talking to these friends and acquaintances since we moved here when I was just two years old. Growing up in this environment has, I'm sure, contributed to certain character and personality traits, which have made me who I am today. I am ultimately a trusting individual, who is both friendly and hospitable. You can learn much about a person simply by walking through their home. For example, if you walk through my house, you would instantly notice framed Bible verses, decorative crosses, inspirational sayings and a trophy case, filled with different types of past accomplishments. • 5. My Family Essay examples I was born into a "happy" family that was actually a web of lies, which unfolded itself through a divorce. My parents' marriage was based on the fact that my father needed a permanent residency card to stay in the United States. Some people may view this as a devastating event; however I have chosen to embrace being an American and a Ghanaian. Coming from two different backgrounds was a challenge, because of the different values and morals each share. These challenges have left me to understand my true purpose concerning my two cultures. I feel fortunate enough to grow up with two different aspects on life itself. Throughout life I was considered to be the "one" on both sides of my families. I was the one who was supposed to accomplish...show more content... Such as attending a public college or becoming President of the United States. Education has therefore played an important role in my life and has been highly valued in my family. While the expectations of my American and Ghanaian family members were so high, their affirmation was not always there. As a child of divorced parents, my mother raised and supported me. My father was always there mentally, emotionally, and physically, but I was financially fully dependent on my mother. Although she had an education, we still struggled. Sometimes we didn't know where our next meal was coming from and had to rely on others. We moved several times while I was growing up and at times, I would be left at a relative's house because of my mother's need to get us financially stable. Things improved, I remained committed to working hard in school, and the expectations never changed. Education has brought me, given me, and gifted me with empowerment, leadership, confidence; greater understanding of social issues and tools to work towards social justice. As many educators say, education is the key to success. I believe that not only is it the key to success, but it's also the key to happiness. College will help me meet my high education and career expectations that I have for myself which is to ultimately get my Professional degree, and make a global difference. It will also help to meet my families as well. College will help me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Personal Note On My Family Essay Have you ever wanted something so bad and then once you got it, you realize it was not all that it was cracked up to be? When I was little, I wanted what every other little kid wanted, a sibling. I wanted a little brother to be exact. That is what I asked for every birthday and every Christmas, thinking my parents could just go to the store and buy one. Finally, one Christmas, my wish came true. I woke up on Christmas morning, bright eyed and bushy–tailed at 6:30. I ran downstairs and saw all of the presents sitting under our enormous tree. Eager to open them up, I ran into my parent's bedroom. I climbed up onto their huge, queen size mattress and began jumping up and down, screaming trying to wake them up. After about 5 minutes, they would finally roll out of bed and head to the living room. My dad would always videotape me opening up my presents every year. I hated it but he always insisted. There was one big box, wrapped in blue wrapping paper with a giant bow, that my parents told me I had to save for the end. Curious about this mysterious present, I ripped open the rest of the gifts quickly. Eventually, I reached the moment to open the big blue box. I began to tear off the paper as fast as I could but when I made it to the bare box, I became very nervous. I slowly cut the tape; scared something might jump out at me. I opened the flaps of the box and out came several blue balloons. After they all flew up to the ceiling, I peeped over into the box and saw a card. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Day With My Family I believe that I feel the most comfortable when I am home with my family. Any activity we do together is amazing. Whether it's watching a movie together, having dinner, or having something to talk about. There is always a time of the day where we just have a good laugh about something that happened throughout the day. I know my family will always be there for me and I will do the same for them. I believe that I am blessed to have such a loving, caring, and compassionate family. I believe when times are tough, my family is my true comfort. Even if it's the smallest thing like a headache or stomachache I feel better with just my mom doing anything for me to feel better. I don't need medicine to heal the smallest pains; all I need is my family's love. I've never looked at another family and thought, "wow they have an amazing relationship, i am jealous". Sometimes I do the opposite because I never had thought wrong about my family even when we're aggravated sometimes. I remember during the summer we would have a cookout every single Saturday and Sunday. We would all get together and have my dads "special asadas". Which are a special steak well done with allot of lime and spices. We would sit there for hours eating and having a beer. We would call close friends that we even call family. I believe there is no perfect life or perfect family. I believe my family will overcome anything that causes pain or misery. I believe that we are in full control of our own wellness, both Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay on My Family My Family My Family has always been a very important staple in my life, they come to all of my sporting events and school activities to support me 100%. They are always there if I ever am in trouble or in need of help, they can do whatever I need. If I need a talking to and I need to calm down and focus they can do that for me. Then there are the times that I have with my brothers and my other family and we have a lot of fun, memories that you share with your family you will never forget. We have thanksgiving together, and all of my family comes out here for the 4th of July and we have the best time. During the day we go out in the boat and things in the water and at night we eat a lot of food and shoot off tons of fireworks. Then we...show more content... No name, no face to put with him, heck I don't even know if I look like him. My family and I are different, there are families that don't share the same situation as having four adopted kids that are all spread apart in age. Yet my family and I push through that and we look past that, people don't understand they think that coming from different parents would divide us kids by thinking, "hey, you aren't my real brother " That kind of thing does not happen, if anything being from different parents brings us together because we are so different from each other we are curious to learn about each other. Some people see it as a tough thing to deal with and I see it as a blessing for my parents, my brothers, and myself to be unique in this way, and we have always been a religious family so we definitely believe that each one of us kids was a blessing to our parents. • 9. Essay on My Family's Ancestry Gathering research about my family and its history turned out to be an interesting and insightful opportunity, through which I learned much more than I expected. When I started this project, I knew that I would not be able to find as much useful information on the Internet as some of my peers. In effect, I realized that I would have to rely on other primary resources such as my parents and grandparents to reveal the story of my ancestry to me. After I had interviewed them, my family history became much clearer to me. More than 2 millennia ago, around the 3rd century BC, a group of Tamil–speaking people from present–day South India migrated to the nearby island of Sri Lanka. Among these people, known today as "Sri Lankan Tamils", are my...show more content... The Peninsula has a hot, monsoonal tropical climate characterized by a dry season from February to October and a wet season from October to January. Because of the monsoons, the region is humid and averages three feet of rain each year, which is relatively low compared to the rest of the island. The climate of the region allows for many crops to be grown including many varieties of fruits and vegetables. While interviewing my parents and grandparents, I learned about many customs and aspects of the Sri Lankan Tamil culture. Sri Lankan Tamils are devotees of the Shaiva sect of Hinduism, mainly worshipping the lord Shiva. The three main cultural festivals celebrated in the area are Thai Pongal (beginning of the harvest), Chittrai Pongal (Tamil New Year), and Deepavali (Hindu Festival of Lights). In addition, pujas (religious rituals) are performed for different occasions, such as the death day of an ancestor or the celebration of a certain Hindu deity. It was also a custom to ask the village astrologer for advice on certain decisions, such as the name of a newborn child. Paternal Great–Grandparents In the early 1900's, Kadirasaipillai and Vairavipillai Kandappar, my paternal grandmother's parents, were born in the village of Puloly, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. They were both born into families of the Vellalar caste of Tamil society and went to school at Puttalai Vidhyalayam, the only schooling option Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 11. Reflective Essay About My Family Everyone has a story of who they are and how they came to be. We all grow up wanting the perfect family, the perfect parents, perfect house, perfect siblings, and to top it off, the white picket fence that surrounds the house. Then life sets in and you realize that life is not all rainbows and unicorns. The people in our life and the environment that we grow up in, is what shapes us to the person we are today. Factors that influence how we are as a person are our family, parents, and society. I come from a family that is hard to describe. We all get along and know when it is time to unite as a family but at the same time the moment someone disagrees with one another, sides are chosen and it takes forever for us to make up. My mother on the other hand, wants nothing but for me to prosper in life and be happy. If I were to describe my mom with one word it would be, fighter. Everything my mother does is for the benefit of my brother and I. My mother has influenced me in many ways. She has taught me how to stand up for myself, to not be afraid of things that may frighten me, not to listen to what others have to say about me because in the long run, what I think about myself is all that matters. My mother is my biggest influencer and supporter and I will be forever grateful that I have such a great mom. Society today is a huge influential part in everyone's life. Others may say that they are their own person and that no one has affected who they are as a person because they are, "their own person," but society affects everyone to what they wear, what music they listen to, how they behave, and many other things. Society has influenced me to stand up for others and to be a voice for those who are too scared to share theirs. I see all over the news and social media, all the hate that goes on in the world just because someone is a little different then them. Society has also influenced the clothes I wear and music I listen Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. The Story Of My Family The story of my family is one that I do not tell often. Although my entire family may not be in agreement at all ties, I know that there is a purpose for every single person in my family; there is a reason that I have the ties I do. Each person and each event builds on the continuous story of my life. Each new day is another chance to embark upon a journey that has the potential to change my life forever. Every time I see my parents, I tell them that I love them. Life itself is so fragile, and we never know what is in store for the future. When I think of my family narrative, I think of courage, resilience, love, compassion, joy, difficulty, and many more emotions and reactions. This is the story of my family as it relates to Marriage and Families today. My parents were married on January 15, 1994. They have been married for 22 years now, and the beginning of my family was signified on that day. My parents were married for 2 years before having their first child. Twenty years later, I am still their only child. My mother's pregnancy with me was filled with stress and unexpected turns. I was born prematurely at two pounds and twelve ounces; an entire two months prematurely. My mom had to stay with me in the hospital for months because I developed jaundice and other conditions that deteriorated my health. The problems did not end there, however. I would love to believe that racism and colorism are not issues anymore, but sadly they are even today. The sight of my pale skin led Get more content on HelpWriting.net
