Location Scouting
We choose this room because it had a desk in it and less school features than the rest
of the rooms we looked at. It also had sufficient space to what we wanted to film.
However we could not film in the day, as during the day there was a lot of background
noise from other students. So we decided to film the conversation scenes, where we
needed the audio, after school.
The light was good in the room but at times the actors had red faces which we could
not change. However in the corridor the light change was exceptional. The light
changed and the light from above was creating a great atmosphere without having to
change the camera settings.
Possible Rooms
This was a classroom that could off been a possibility to film in.
We decided that this room had too many classroom pictures
and posters that would ruin the effect of the film. The lighting in
the room was fine when the lights were on, but sometimes the
window light gave a wired lighting. However we could use it to
our advantage.
This was the common room where we thought we could film. It
was the better choice out of the two. However there was too
much to move and no desk for us to work off for the
conversation scene. This room was also the room closest to the
road so may have picked up background noises. It was also the
busiest room in sixth form as it is the common room.
Filming Techniques & Problems
In this photo, were trying to show that
we used a chair on wheels to film. This
kept the tripod still while a person was
moved on it. It was used in moving
following shots.
This technique is called, The dolly shot.
Techniques
We had to leave early when filming as there
was no one to supervise us. So we had to wait
to film over the weekend. However I had a hair
cut at the weekend and we had done some
filming. So when we came back we had to re-
film the small ones we did.
