2. 1 – Abbey Road, Beatles
The one most iconic cover is this one done for
the Beatles, which is simplistic. The four
members are just crossing the street - Abbey
Road. They are perfectly synched and you can
easily tell the member apart.
Designer: Kosh/Iain MacMillan
3. 2 – 1984, Van Halen
This cd cover was designed to show a little
angel boy, but with a bit of corruption to him,
in the form of a cigarette. This was done to
show that rock’n’roll can ‘corrupt’ anyone.
Designer: Pete Angelus, Richard Seireeni, David
Jellison, Margo Zafer Nahas
4. 3 - Ágætis Byrjun, Sigur Rós
Designer: Gotti Bernhöft
The cover for this album is a foetus of a
angel or alien. It represents the bands
music, for it is known to be “otherworldly”
by critics. It is also very simple with the
bands name not being on the front or the
name of the album.
5. 4 - American IV: The Man Comes Around, Johnny Cash
Photographer: Martyn Atkins
This album is just a simple photo of Johnny
Cash, nothing fancy or anything, but with
this album being one of his last he made.
The black and white photograph symbolises
some of the songs in the album where he is
looking back at his life.
6. 5 - Draft 7.30, Autechre
Designer: Alex Rutterford
The design is very abstract to go with the music of
the album, which is a electronic sounding. It is
meant to seem like it is unpredictable in the
movements you can see.
