1. Career Anna Summer Project Contest
Project Introduction: SaaS Delivery platform enables sassification of a Web
application or an On Premise application to a SaaS based application that can be
accessed over the internet. I have designed the framework of the platform named
MSDP (Mind tree SaaS Delivery Platform) that is yet to be launched. Conducted an
extensive primary and secondary research and listed the various components that are
to be included in the platform and the features of each of these components.
The features of the following components were discussed in depth. Some of the
components are Tenant Enrolment, User Management, Role based authorization,
Logging and diagnostics, Application usage Metering, Billing, tenant management,
configuration, customization etc.
Designed a detailed subscription and billing process that would ensure constant
revenue to the Independent Software vendors and the Tenants. This will be the
Business Model that will be adopted by most of the IT companies in the future.

2. Objectives of the project
Market
research
•Designing a framework for SaaS Delivery Platform
•List the features to be provided in each component of the SaaS Delivery platform
• Designed a detailed subscription and billing process that would generate constant revenue to
the Independent Software vendors and the Tenants
Competitor
Analysis
•List the various competitors who are providing the SaaS Delivery platform
• Study the features of every competitor and then designing the framework for SaaS platform of
Mind tree so that it will emerge as a Market Leader
• Represent the findings in Gartner's Magic Quadrant
Promotional
Strategies
•Designing the promotional strategies to launch the product in the market
• Suggested suitable Digital Marketing strategies to promote the product
3. Relevance to the Industry Segment:
Forrester Research on Public Cloud and SaaS
• Largest Growth segment is SaaS
and continues to be relevant until
2018
• Growth of IaaS, PaaS, BPaaS, will
stagnate by 2015
• ISV’s without SaaS offering tends
to loose out of market share
• Sassification is a key area to focus
for software services companies
3
Business benefits expected:
1) SaaS Delivery Platform will help in grabbing this market share and increase the top line and bottom line
growth of the company.
2) Paradigm shift in the business model of the IT companies: The pay per use model suggested will ensure
constant revenue for ISVs’. The tenants are freed from maintaining the infrastructure and reduce their
investment in CAPEX
3) Proposed Billing methodology=Price for DB selection+SLA requirement fee+ (Number of UsersXNumber
of Units per userXPrice per unit)/(Fixed Rental fees) +Service Tax.

Editor's Notes
IDC predicts that by 2015:
Nearly $1 of every $6 spent on packaged software & $1 of every $5 spent on applications will be consumed via the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
2) SaaS Delivery Platform similar to the one developed by Mindtree will help in grabbing this market share and increase the top line and bottom line growth of the company.
