Cold-in-Place Recycling Project
Location: Ontario Avenue from California Avenue to Magnolia Avenue
Description: The Ontario Avenue Street Improvements consisted of the
rehabilitation of Ontario Avenue using a Cold-In-Place Recycling

down with a paver. Other ancillary improvements included minor
Americans with Disability Act (ADA) upgrades to the existing concrete
improvements, traffic signal modifications, and thermoplastic street
striping.
Schedule: Construction started in May 2018 and was completed in
November 2018.
Project Cost: $ 1,500,617.41

Four long segments between intersections with 3 lanes in each

The long road segments and busy commercial centers made CIR
an ideal alternative to conventional grinding and an AC overlay
5. 5
Replacing 3” of pavement while maintaining traffic would have
been very difficult adjacent to busy commercial centers
