5. Dynascan Calibration/Initialization
When initializing the LiDAR system, it is necessary to start the vehicle
or vessel for about 20 seconds in a straight line. It is good to reach up to
20km/h during this step, but it is not necessary for the duration of the
initialization.
In order to achieve the expected accuracy of LiDAR data, boresight
heading, pitch and roll errors should be removed during the calibration
process. If these errors are not corrected, the resulting LiDAR point
cloud data will have a deterioration of absolute accuracy.
