3. The earth is an oblate spheroid planet of
a depth of around 6400 km, it is
structured in three large layers to know
the core, mantle and the crust. These
layers are both physically and chemically
different,
 The core is the part of earth in the
middle of our planet, it has a solid
inner core and a liquid outer core
 The mantle is the layer of the Earth
right below the crust
 The crust is the outermost layer of the
Earth. It is made of solid rocks

There are more than 700 known types of igneous rocks.
The examples of igneous rocks are mainly based on mineralogical
composition, time of cooling and density of crystals in rocks.

On the earth planet, there are different rocks. These Rocks are used for many usages but
some of them that we can see in our daily life are cited below
 Making Cement (Limestone) (Sedimentary Origin)
 Fire, energy (Coal, petrol) (Sedimentary Origin)
 Writing (Chalk) (Sedimentary Origin)
 Building Material (Sandstone, granite, gabbro) (all rocks)
 Statue/Ornaments/Decoration (Marble) (Metamorphic Origin)
 Valuable source of minerals (Gold, Diamond, Uranium…)
 Some rocks acts as tourist attraction sites.
 Study of rocks provides information about the past
