Advantages to Studying Abroad
Education is a never–ending learning process that has always been a piece of our life. As education is a building block in our lives, we are eager to
put profoundly into our education. Good education will lead us to the bright future. With the fast advancement of public opinion, we have entered an
era of information explosion which the necessity of studying abroad has turned into a developing pattern among youth. Most of the students feel that
studying abroad is better than studying in local universities. As the saying goes, "the grass always looks greener on the other side of fence." In this
way, I believe that considering abroad have extraordinary points of benefits.
First and foremost, from personal angle, study abroad enables students to achieve high level of maturity and independence very quick. This is because
they are being away from their support network like families. It may seem daunting but in the other hand it is actually a precious chance for the
students to sharp their own skill and gain some independence. For instance, they have to buy the groceries by themselves which maybe it is their first
time doing so. Students also have to deal with many problems when they study abroad like adapting to the new environments and lifestyle. So from
here, they have learnt how to deal with problems. Apart from that, study abroad may also rapidly advance the student's language skills especially
English. Being surrounded with the native speaker and people that don't speak the

Living abroad is a dream come true, but it wasn't easy.Being in a land of opportunities, it was hard finding a job that would hire inexperienced people.
I started working as a live–in cook on a senior home care where my uncle works. I quit after few weeks of working and was hired as a cashier at a
souvenir shop in Downtown Las Vegas. Everything was going well. But after three years of working, I got fed up by how they treat and manage
their employees. I looked and applied for a new job, but to no avail, I wasn't lucky enough. I spend my time babysitting my cousins to pay my bills. I
believed my current situation was my final destination, that I couldn't do anything to change it. All I have to do is go with the flow, and whatever
happens, happens. However, attending a small family gathering affected my opinion in life when one of my Aunt who works at Sunrise Hospital asked
me a question, whether I'm working or going to school. Her question caught me off guard. I was used to people asking me the same questions but
tonight was different. Probably because I failed my interview the day before yesterday and I am still a little bit upset about it. I wasn't proud with the
way things going on in my life.
I'm currently unemployed and am not going to school. I ransacked my mind to think about what to tell my Aunt for her, not to ask further questions
about why I'm unemployed. In the end, I told her I quit my job to go to school. Which is half–lie and half–truth, I was thinking of

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living Abroad
It is without doubt that for some people, going to a foreign country can be quite the shock. Before I experienced living abroad, I was adamant that I too
would experience a culture shock. What happened was totally the opposite.
I spend my last year of my bachelor studies living in Belgium, Ghent. I received a scholarship, so I did not have to work to support myself. Instedad I
focused on my studies and of course on the adventure. You see, culture shock is not something you catch, like the flu or the common cold; it's not
something you get when you set foot on the airport, it's a feeling and it is not always there. If I was in a more exotic place than Europe, I believe I
would have had a minor culture shock, but having to write about a culture shock I experienced during my stay in a European country is simply
impossible.

Not only you get to meet the tall, blond blue–eyed Belgums. You get the Indians that run the nacht winkels (night shops), the Arabs that sell kebabs
and falafels in 24h restaurants on the "party street", you get to meet all the other exchange students; the Italians and the Spanish and the Greek, and an
occasional Korean that thinks Bulgaria is still fighting the Balkan War.
One of the teachers that had a huge impact on my studies, and inspired me to continue studing amerian literature and fired up my passion for slave
narratives was an American Professor, that was also an exchange teacher. A great example of the so elusive culture shock, is when he shared his
experience with the new country. What he said was that he expected something totally different, "you know with the wooden shoes and the mills". He
was always surprised when he heard a typically american song play on the radio in one of the cafes he visited, or when he realized that there are a lot

SUMMARY
The goal of this study is to see how study abroad influences a student 's life from personal growth to academia. Personal experience, interviews and
questionnaires show the broad benefits that SA trips give benefits which include personal growth, higher academic achievement, personal cultural
awareness. Previous articles on this subject have come to similar conclusions and hinted at what more research would conclude. My research reiterated
and reinforced the past research but also allowed me to draw newer conclusions. The newer conclusion reached through interviews with study abroad
participants is that those who study abroad are more likely to have more international cultural interest.
INTRODUCTION Modern students are expected to be culturally diverse in our globalized world. We are more internationally connected than ever and
this requires us to have a better understanding of other cultures. Study abroad trips allow students to get a taste of other cultures by surrounding them
with a new unknown environment. Living in another country pushes students befriend people from other backgrounds which gives them a broader
understanding of other ways of living. The sampling of other cultures lets those who studied abroad to evaluate their own culture and realize the pros
and cons. Through multiple interviews it has been found that after evaluating their own way of life, compared to those students in the country they
visited, they have an eagerness to seek out other

Better job opportunities and higher pay overseas have urged many Filipinos to work abroad and leave their families for years. In fact, way back in
2006 alone, 1.5 million Filipino workers were deployed to various parts of the globe. So, a number children these days experience the absence of

According to most experts, separation anxiety is a natural event in human development. Fears and anxieties among children arenormal, common and

Effects of Living in a Foreign Country Essay
Living away from your country can be a really interesting and unforgettable experience, but at the same time it has very important effects on one's
life. The purpose of this essay is to discuss the three main effects that living in another country can produce in your personal life. The major effect,
and also a very common one, is that once you start a regular life away from home, you miss everything. This fact doesn't mean that you are unhappy
but that you are aware of being on your own. Missing your family and the attention they all paid to you is a very usual thing to do. Little details like
sitting on a Sunday morning watching TV alone instead of helping your dad organizing his things or having a nice chat with your mom makes you
...show more content...
It's obvious then that you have started to appreciate everything you had back where you belong. The second main effect would be learning how to
accept another type of society and culture into your daily life. Since you are living in a place with different customs and traditions from yours, you
have to be able to develop yourself in unknown conditions. This means making new friends, learning other points of view, accepting different
opinions and values, and seizing every opportunity you have to go to new places. Therefore, you'll be able to achieve true knowledge. Suggesting
to change your mind totally or to be square minded would be foolish; the best thing to do would be to stick to your most important values and,
according to them, change those that you believe could be improved. The most significant effect of living away from home is the independent
behavior that grows inside of you. Living on your own far from your family gives you a lot of experiences toward organizing your life. Since it is
up to you and no one else to go to school, clean your room, wash your clothes, and organize your expenses, it is predictable that you will have a
good and strong meaning of responsibility. Being independent and responsible will help you get through life every goal you want to achieve. Living
far from home, even for a short period of time, can be really hard at the beginning. We have to remember that all changes are difficult, but they are

The phrase study abroad means a persons intent to gain knowledge outside of the confines of their country. Studying abroad is an effective way to
fulfill requirements for your college degree and travel the world while experiencing new cultures at the same time There are many various aspects of
studying abroad. You must be prepared: It is fun and exciting, but you must be cautious of the dangers.
Many students choose to study abroad because of the potential benefits. Some students want to learn a second language and believe that it would be

These will inform you of regulations for entry and other important information, including the location of the United States embassy in that country
(Studying Abroad, 2001).
When traveling, outside of the United States, you will need a passport. You might also need visas depending on the country you are visiting. You
may also want to think about investing in insurance for the goods you are bringing with you. This will help you if something is lost, stolen or
ruined. (General Information, 2004). You will need to bring enough money to cover the expenses you plan to occur, and extra in case of an
emergency. It is a good idea to get travelers checks instead of risking losing your money or having it stolen. You will possibly have to exchange these
for the type of denomination used in the country you are visiting. It is imperative that you get the vaccinations recommended for the country you are
visiting, to avoid sickness and possible death. What can I learn from studying abroad?
Students who have studied abroad have reported learning and developing many things. Of which included bilingual skills, gaining knowledge of the
country they visited, its people, culture, and heritage. They also said they gained knowledge of the countries society, economy, politics and its role in
the world (Dolby, 2004). They also reported acquiring skills like

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Traveling Abroad
Traveling Abroad
Sixty–four percent of the American population has never traveled abroad. Therefore, only thirty–six percent own a passport and has used it to explore
the world. Mark Twain once said, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow
–minded–ness." The planet has never been so interconnected and its
quit shocking how only sixty–four percent of the world's most influential country has never seen any other parts of the world. When you travel, you
learn that life isn't always black and white. They're many different cultures, religions, and traditions each country has; which helps a person expand their
knowledge. Traveling abroad gives you more experience which later affects your daily lives. Such as, seeing the markets in India or the street
shows in Paris. "My first backpacking trip around Europe gave me the confidence I was lacking in life and I returned home with a better attitude
and a new outlook on my direction in life" (Johnston) There is so much more to living than just the typical American family lifestyle and traveling
gives you the opportunity to see that. It is fascinating and scary stepping off a plane or boat that has arrived in a country that doesn't primarily speak
English. Traveling for the first time feels like total freedom. The worries of bills and work takes a strain on an individual so traveling and relaxing
helps ease that stress. People tend to travel when they have off days or just when they are looking to relax for a weekend away from their everyday
lives. What people don't know is there is so much more than just sitting on a beach or staying at a resort. As I read in the Huffington post, "if you want
to make big changes and chase big dreams, you will have to constantly test the limits of your comfort zone." Traveling is most beneficial when you are
experiencing new cultures and seeing famous landmarks.
There is no doubt that traveling has changed mine and many other people's lives in multiple ways. Meeting new people, from another country, for the
first time changes you. Experiencing new traditions and learning about new beliefs changes your perspective. From the "conversations you have and
the meals you share. You realize what you see in the news is not reality

Persuasive Essay On Living Alone
Living alone has become a way of life associated with affluence and is rarely frowned upon nowadays. It has many merits; no–one will shift your
possessions around; no–one will keep you awake with their snoring or hog the duvet all night and no–one will expect you to clean up their mess.
There's no argument over which TV programme to view and your favourite chocolates won't disappear unless you eat them yourself. Anyone can
have more control over their own life by choosing to live alone and the independence this brings has made the idea of solo living more appealing than
it was. The stigma of the solitary spinster or bored bachelor has long gone.
People often confuse being alone with loneliness but the two aren't necessarily related. If...show more content...
Some builders even offer sales incentives to help you downsize from a larger family home. Compact properties hold their appeal and are quick to sell
or part– exchange, if and when the owner decides to purchase a larger place or move in with someone else. Such properties are usually incorporated
into normal housing estates which feature a good mix of other property types; this forms the basis of a sound community and dispenses with ghetto
type blocks so lacking in variety.
And for those not wishing to purchase, there's still the same variety of properties available to rent. Any search on a property portal such as
Rightmove will bring up a selection of these homes available in any given place both at home and abroad. For instance, in UK cities like Leeds,
there's a wealth of studio and one–bedroomed apartments which are purpose built for single occupants. Garaging in the form of underground car
parking is standard, along with dramatic views of the cityscape. Some apartment blocks even have their own gym and leisure facilities. Streamlined
kitchen and living areas are sometimes combined to provide spacious and stylish living – and all this in the very heart of the city to make commuting a
thing of the past. Inexpensive furniture packages are available even for the smallest apartment, to ensure that space is utilised to the full.
Retirement apartments for the over 55's are becoming more popular, providing ground floor living or developments with lift and disabled

Why Do People Go Abroad Essay
Good morning Everyone I'm Jonathan Mislang and I choose topic Why people go Abroad.
Going abroad seems to be part of everyone's to–do–lists. Afterall, visiting or living abroad is an adventure of a lifetime. You go to an alien place, with
different people and culture. You get to experience new things–unfamiliar places, exotic food, and much more. Everyone has different reasons for
travelling out of the country. What's the most common reason why people go abroad though? It depends on the group of people you're asking.
For the youth, various reasons can be tied to travelling to another country. For one, most young people travel while they are in their 20s to get out of
their comfort zone. They want to get a fresh view of the world and gain firsthand experience of what's it like in the "real world." This is
understandable since, after studying for the longest time, young people are set to question their purpose. You typically hear fresh college graduates
ask themselves, "What do I do now?" the truth is, they have no idea of what it's like to be "out in the open." Young people are often shocked with the

Why study abroad, one might ask? There are a lot of benefits of studying abroad. A different culture means a different mindset and a new school
system, which may challenge them to do better in their studies. Being in a foreign school also presents a lot of work opportunities after. This is true
for most developing countries. Being accepted to Ivy League schools in developed countries like US or Germany presents countless offers and
windows of opportunity in the far future. At this present age, being able to adapt to the high standards of globalization is a key aspect to being
successful. For the youth, travelling abroad to pursue their studies is a perfect avenue to develop their skills, immerse in a second (or even third)
language, and observe cultural

Essay about Moving to Another Country
Typically, people like to think getting up and moving to another country is as easy as it sounds. People leave their home countries for various
reasons, to escape as a refugee, or immigrate for a change in life. As easy as it seems to be there are so many roadblocks along the way. The country
was created thousands of years ago as the holy land but over time, it has gone through different rulers and at many times the Jewish people of Israel was
exiled and forced to leave the only country they knew. The history of Israel is important because it dictates as to why immigration and leaving that
country to go to others in the Middle East is impossible. People have been dealing with war, military, religious, and gender regulations in Israel...show

Women in the Middle East hold little to no power, especially compared to women in the United States. Women escaping these wars are women who
have been oppressed by society; oppression that a woman in the United States has never felt and gone through. Women are denied equal education
and rights, when dealing with a part of the world that has law made from religion and military conflict, the man is in charge and women feel the
biggest burn. In Israel, the biggest conflict is revolves the Arabs against the Israelis; although it is one country it is split into two sectors dividing its
people, with different religious views and different practices there is a huge problem.
In the face of this situation the Arab nation must adopt a resolute and deductive attitude to the parties to the attitude to the parties to the aggression and
the tools of the aggression and Take serious and intensive action to provide all that is rewired for the confrontation of the imperialist–Zionist attack on
the Arab nation. (Al–Kuwayt 191)
With half of the Israeli nation being split into Arab or Jewish, people do feel a huge amount of aggression towards one another. The war between to
the sides of the country results in wars that will never be solved; the wars create problems among its people. With the problems among its people, it is
hard for citizens to live their everyday life. Women do feel the most hardship in wanting to escape the country. All of these factors result into

An Experience Studying Abroad
An event can make people change their habits and attitudes, so do I. Never having imagined going to another country to study, I was satisfied my
daily life: having 9 classes everyday, a vast of homeworks, and endless cram school just like most student in China. Until one day, being told the idea
of going abroad, I started to think and change my life. Going abroad to study, the most influential event to me, affects my life in three ways , which are
being independent, starting college life, and being an adult. To start with, after being apart from my family, I become more independent. When I was in
high school, I can't live without parents. Perhaps due to the difference of culture, Chinese parents give their children excessive attention, which
cause negative effects on children's development. One day, " I'm starving, and I want to eat sweet and sour pork" I said to my mom languidly just
like usual. Mom frowned for a while and replied seriously:" you are already 16, and you need to learn housework instead of asking and
commanding. You will realize what I am saying in the future." "Okay, haha I will," I answered inadvertently, thinking that mom was so garrulous.
However, after being apart from my parents, I learned to cook and clean my room, which I had never thought before. Until then, I realized my mom's
words suddenly and regretted not listening to mom's suggestions, and I started to observe what other people do when dealing with difficulties.
Imitating others, I

They have to face new experience and new challenges in their life when they come to abroad. The first year of their college abroad is a litmus test

the international students over here as they make their entry to new culture and a new educational system. They have to begin a new life in an
environment that is very different. For example simple tasks such as going to grocery store where the language is different and the products are
unfamiliar. The education system in India and Canada is different as in India, more focus is on memorization and there is no practical work but over
here, more focus is on problem–solving skills and self–guided research. Majority of the students live without their family which is very hard for them

Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that studying in a different country is a privilege
because they are able to experience other cultures, and learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because
International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot handle it very well. Therefore, in theUnited States the
life of an international student is very unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to learn a new

achieve excellent grades. Most university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money in order to be
independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent
from their parents or whoever is responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very difficult because
they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for
an international student to find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is not going to have any
problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted
to get a job in order to have his own money. He went to

Introduction Problem solving and decision–making are important skills for business and life. Problem–solving often involves decision–making, and
decision–making is especially important for management and leadership. There are processes and techniques to improve decision–making and the
quality of decisions. Decision–making is more natural to certain personalities, so these people should focus more on improving the quality of their

assessments made. Problem–solving and decision–making are closely linked, and each requires creativity in identifying and developing options, for

The question in this case is how to select employees to go abroad? In most cases is a good decision making technique to let employees in this case the
engineers know about the opportunity and let the individuals request if interested in the specific assignment. In this case all individuals are capable of

request the assignment the four engineers needed would be selected randomly since all of them have the experience, training and capability for this
assignment. What are some major factors that would influence your decision process? Time pressures frequently cause a manager has to move forward
after considering only the first or most obvious answers. However, successful problem solving requires thorough examination of the challenge, and a
quick answer may not result in a permanent solution. Thus, a manager should think through and investigate several alternative solutions to a single

Advantages To Studying Abroad

  • 1. Advantages to Studying Abroad Education is a never–ending learning process that has always been a piece of our life. As education is a building block in our lives, we are eager to put profoundly into our education. Good education will lead us to the bright future. With the fast advancement of public opinion, we have entered an era of information explosion which the necessity of studying abroad has turned into a developing pattern among youth. Most of the students feel that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities. As the saying goes, "the grass always looks greener on the other side of fence." In this way, I believe that considering abroad have extraordinary points of benefits. First and foremost, from personal angle, study abroad enables students to achieve high level of maturity and independence very quick. This is because they are being away from their support network like families. It may seem daunting but in the other hand it is actually a precious chance for the students to sharp their own skill and gain some independence. For instance, they have to buy the groceries by themselves which maybe it is their first time doing so. Students also have to deal with many problems when they study abroad like adapting to the new environments and lifestyle. So from here, they have learnt how to deal with problems. Apart from that, study abroad may also rapidly advance the student's language skills especially English. Being surrounded with the native speaker and people that don't speak the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Living abroad is a dream come true, but it wasn't easy.Being in a land of opportunities, it was hard finding a job that would hire inexperienced people. I started working as a live–in cook on a senior home care where my uncle works. I quit after few weeks of working and was hired as a cashier at a souvenir shop in Downtown Las Vegas. Everything was going well. But after three years of working, I got fed up by how they treat and manage their employees. I looked and applied for a new job, but to no avail, I wasn't lucky enough. I spend my time babysitting my cousins to pay my bills. I believed my current situation was my final destination, that I couldn't do anything to change it. All I have to do is go with the flow, and whatever happens, happens. However, attending a small family gathering affected my opinion in life when one of my Aunt who works at Sunrise Hospital asked me a question, whether I'm working or going to school. Her question caught me off guard. I was used to people asking me the same questions but tonight was different. Probably because I failed my interview the day before yesterday and I am still a little bit upset about it. I wasn't proud with the way things going on in my life. I'm currently unemployed and am not going to school. I ransacked my mind to think about what to tell my Aunt for her, not to ask further questions about why I'm unemployed. In the end, I told her I quit my job to go to school. Which is half–lie and half–truth, I was thinking of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living Abroad It is without doubt that for some people, going to a foreign country can be quite the shock. Before I experienced living abroad, I was adamant that I too would experience a culture shock. What happened was totally the opposite. I spend my last year of my bachelor studies living in Belgium, Ghent. I received a scholarship, so I did not have to work to support myself. Instedad I focused on my studies and of course on the adventure. You see, culture shock is not something you catch, like the flu or the common cold; it's not something you get when you set foot on the airport, it's a feeling and it is not always there. If I was in a more exotic place than Europe, I believe I would have had a minor culture shock, but having to write about a culture shock I experienced during my stay in a European country is simply impossible. To...show more content... Not only you get to meet the tall, blond blue–eyed Belgums. You get the Indians that run the nacht winkels (night shops), the Arabs that sell kebabs and falafels in 24h restaurants on the "party street", you get to meet all the other exchange students; the Italians and the Spanish and the Greek, and an occasional Korean that thinks Bulgaria is still fighting the Balkan War. One of the teachers that had a huge impact on my studies, and inspired me to continue studing amerian literature and fired up my passion for slave narratives was an American Professor, that was also an exchange teacher. A great example of the so elusive culture shock, is when he shared his experience with the new country. What he said was that he expected something totally different, "you know with the wooden shoes and the mills". He was always surprised when he heard a typically american song play on the radio in one of the cafes he visited, or when he realized that there are a lot of American franchises like McDonalds, Starbucks and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. SUMMARY The goal of this study is to see how study abroad influences a student 's life from personal growth to academia. Personal experience, interviews and questionnaires show the broad benefits that SA trips give benefits which include personal growth, higher academic achievement, personal cultural awareness. Previous articles on this subject have come to similar conclusions and hinted at what more research would conclude. My research reiterated and reinforced the past research but also allowed me to draw newer conclusions. The newer conclusion reached through interviews with study abroad participants is that those who study abroad are more likely to have more international cultural interest. INTRODUCTION Modern students are expected to be culturally diverse in our globalized world. We are more internationally connected than ever and this requires us to have a better understanding of other cultures. Study abroad trips allow students to get a taste of other cultures by surrounding them with a new unknown environment. Living in another country pushes students befriend people from other backgrounds which gives them a broader understanding of other ways of living. The sampling of other cultures lets those who studied abroad to evaluate their own culture and realize the pros and cons. Through multiple interviews it has been found that after evaluating their own way of life, compared to those students in the country they visited, they have an eagerness to seek out other Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Better job opportunities and higher pay overseas have urged many Filipinos to work abroad and leave their families for years. In fact, way back in 2006 alone, 1.5 million Filipino workers were deployed to various parts of the globe. So, a number children these days experience the absence of fathers or mothers, who tend to come home only once in every two to three years. The situation is far from normal and is more–likely to cause a huge impact on the mental and emotional well–being of the children. The increasing amount of absentee parents becomes more alarming because without them, discipline is not enforced at home. Fortunately, according to surveys, more Filipino children have been able to cope up with the absence of their fathers,...show more content... • 6. Effects of Living in a Foreign Country Essay Living away from your country can be a really interesting and unforgettable experience, but at the same time it has very important effects on one's life. The purpose of this essay is to discuss the three main effects that living in another country can produce in your personal life. The major effect, and also a very common one, is that once you start a regular life away from home, you miss everything. This fact doesn't mean that you are unhappy but that you are aware of being on your own. Missing your family and the attention they all paid to you is a very usual thing to do. Little details like sitting on a Sunday morning watching TV alone instead of helping your dad organizing his things or having a nice chat with your mom makes you ...show more content... It's obvious then that you have started to appreciate everything you had back where you belong. The second main effect would be learning how to accept another type of society and culture into your daily life. Since you are living in a place with different customs and traditions from yours, you have to be able to develop yourself in unknown conditions. This means making new friends, learning other points of view, accepting different opinions and values, and seizing every opportunity you have to go to new places. Therefore, you'll be able to achieve true knowledge. Suggesting to change your mind totally or to be square minded would be foolish; the best thing to do would be to stick to your most important values and, according to them, change those that you believe could be improved. The most significant effect of living away from home is the independent behavior that grows inside of you. Living on your own far from your family gives you a lot of experiences toward organizing your life. Since it is up to you and no one else to go to school, clean your room, wash your clothes, and organize your expenses, it is predictable that you will have a good and strong meaning of responsibility. Being independent and responsible will help you get through life every goal you want to achieve. Living far from home, even for a short period of time, can be really hard at the beginning. We have to remember that all changes are difficult, but they are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Studying Abroad Essay Studying Abroad The phrase study abroad means a persons intent to gain knowledge outside of the confines of their country. Studying abroad is an effective way to fulfill requirements for your college degree and travel the world while experiencing new cultures at the same time There are many various aspects of studying abroad. You must be prepared: It is fun and exciting, but you must be cautious of the dangers. Many students choose to study abroad because of the potential benefits. Some students want to learn a second language and believe that it would be worth while and more interesting for them to learn it in the native country. Some students choose to study abroad to learn about cultures first hand rather then...show more content... These will inform you of regulations for entry and other important information, including the location of the United States embassy in that country (Studying Abroad, 2001). When traveling, outside of the United States, you will need a passport. You might also need visas depending on the country you are visiting. You may also want to think about investing in insurance for the goods you are bringing with you. This will help you if something is lost, stolen or ruined. (General Information, 2004). You will need to bring enough money to cover the expenses you plan to occur, and extra in case of an emergency. It is a good idea to get travelers checks instead of risking losing your money or having it stolen. You will possibly have to exchange these for the type of denomination used in the country you are visiting. It is imperative that you get the vaccinations recommended for the country you are visiting, to avoid sickness and possible death. What can I learn from studying abroad? Students who have studied abroad have reported learning and developing many things. Of which included bilingual skills, gaining knowledge of the country they visited, its people, culture, and heritage. They also said they gained knowledge of the countries society, economy, politics and its role in the world (Dolby, 2004). They also reported acquiring skills like Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Traveling Abroad Traveling Abroad Sixty–four percent of the American population has never traveled abroad. Therefore, only thirty–six percent own a passport and has used it to explore the world. Mark Twain once said, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow –minded–ness." The planet has never been so interconnected and its quit shocking how only sixty–four percent of the world's most influential country has never seen any other parts of the world. When you travel, you learn that life isn't always black and white. They're many different cultures, religions, and traditions each country has; which helps a person expand their knowledge. Traveling abroad gives you more experience which later affects your daily lives. Such as, seeing the markets in India or the street shows in Paris. "My first backpacking trip around Europe gave me the confidence I was lacking in life and I returned home with a better attitude and a new outlook on my direction in life" (Johnston) There is so much more to living than just the typical American family lifestyle and traveling gives you the opportunity to see that. It is fascinating and scary stepping off a plane or boat that has arrived in a country that doesn't primarily speak English. Traveling for the first time feels like total freedom. The worries of bills and work takes a strain on an individual so traveling and relaxing helps ease that stress. People tend to travel when they have off days or just when they are looking to relax for a weekend away from their everyday lives. What people don't know is there is so much more than just sitting on a beach or staying at a resort. As I read in the Huffington post, "if you want to make big changes and chase big dreams, you will have to constantly test the limits of your comfort zone." Traveling is most beneficial when you are experiencing new cultures and seeing famous landmarks. There is no doubt that traveling has changed mine and many other people's lives in multiple ways. Meeting new people, from another country, for the first time changes you. Experiencing new traditions and learning about new beliefs changes your perspective. From the "conversations you have and the meals you share. You realize what you see in the news is not reality Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Living Alone Living alone has become a way of life associated with affluence and is rarely frowned upon nowadays. It has many merits; no–one will shift your possessions around; no–one will keep you awake with their snoring or hog the duvet all night and no–one will expect you to clean up their mess. There's no argument over which TV programme to view and your favourite chocolates won't disappear unless you eat them yourself. Anyone can have more control over their own life by choosing to live alone and the independence this brings has made the idea of solo living more appealing than it was. The stigma of the solitary spinster or bored bachelor has long gone. People often confuse being alone with loneliness but the two aren't necessarily related. If...show more content... Some builders even offer sales incentives to help you downsize from a larger family home. Compact properties hold their appeal and are quick to sell or part– exchange, if and when the owner decides to purchase a larger place or move in with someone else. Such properties are usually incorporated into normal housing estates which feature a good mix of other property types; this forms the basis of a sound community and dispenses with ghetto type blocks so lacking in variety. And for those not wishing to purchase, there's still the same variety of properties available to rent. Any search on a property portal such as Rightmove will bring up a selection of these homes available in any given place both at home and abroad. For instance, in UK cities like Leeds, there's a wealth of studio and one–bedroomed apartments which are purpose built for single occupants. Garaging in the form of underground car parking is standard, along with dramatic views of the cityscape. Some apartment blocks even have their own gym and leisure facilities. Streamlined kitchen and living areas are sometimes combined to provide spacious and stylish living – and all this in the very heart of the city to make commuting a thing of the past. Inexpensive furniture packages are available even for the smallest apartment, to ensure that space is utilised to the full. Retirement apartments for the over 55's are becoming more popular, providing ground floor living or developments with lift and disabled Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Why Do People Go Abroad Essay Good morning Everyone I'm Jonathan Mislang and I choose topic Why people go Abroad. Going abroad seems to be part of everyone's to–do–lists. Afterall, visiting or living abroad is an adventure of a lifetime. You go to an alien place, with different people and culture. You get to experience new things–unfamiliar places, exotic food, and much more. Everyone has different reasons for travelling out of the country. What's the most common reason why people go abroad though? It depends on the group of people you're asking. For the youth, various reasons can be tied to travelling to another country. For one, most young people travel while they are in their 20s to get out of their comfort zone. They want to get a fresh view of the world and gain firsthand experience of what's it like in the "real world." This is understandable since, after studying for the longest time, young people are set to question their purpose.
