Numbers can be written in different forms.
These include:
Standard Form
Word Form
Short Word Form
Expanded Form
Numbers are part of the decimal system
that uses 10 digits: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
3. NUMBER FORMS
The Standard Form of a number is the
normal presentation we see everyday. The
number contains your basic numerals from
0 to 9.
E.g. 2,876,254
4. NUMBER FORMS
The Word Form of a number is the
number expressed in words.
E.g. Two Million, Eight
Hundred and Seventy Six
Thousand, Two Hundred and
Fifty Four
5. NUMBER FORMS
The Short Word Form is where the
number is made up of both words and
numbers. The number represents the
numerical value (the numeral) and the
word presents the place value.
E.g. 2 Million, 876 Thousand,

6. NUMBER FORMS
The Expanded Form is where each
numeral, according to its place in the
number, is expressed as if it exists on its
own. All the numbers are then added
together.
E.g.
2,000,000+800,000+70,000+6,
000+200+50+4
