Analyzing/Discussion What have you learned from the activity? What was the lesson all about? 2. Generalization How do we multiply fractions in simple and mixed forms. 3. Fixing Skills: Find the product. 1. 3/9 x 2 ½= 2. 4/8 x 1 1/5= 3. ½ x 1 2/3= 4. What is the result if you multiply 1/8 by 1 1/3. Pupils raise their right hand Diligent and hardworking boy. Pupils read the problem Read the instruction on the activity card. Multiply fractions in simple and mixed forms To multiply fractions in simple and mixed forms change the mixed form into improper fraction. Multiply the numerator by numerator and denominator by denominator then reduce to its possible lowest term. Show the picture and ask questions about it. Let one of the pupils read the problem. What is asked in the problem? Do you want to know to solve it? Check pupils answer. Have further discussion and clarification about multiplying fractions in simple and mixed forms Write on the board the pupils answer.
- 3. 4. Application: Read and Solve: Mother had 1 ½ dozen eggs in the refrigerator. She used 1/3 of the eggs. What part of the eggs was used? IV- EVALUATION Find the product and express the answer in lowest term, if necessary. 1. 3/5 x 2 1/6 = 2. 1/8 x 5 4/7 = 3. 2/8 x 8 3/6 = 4. What is the product of 2 4/9 and 3 3/7? 5. What is the result if you multiply 5/6 and 3 2/4? V- ASSIGNMENT Give the product. 1. 12 ¼ x 3 2/9 = 2. 15 ¾ x 2 1/5 = 3. 17 1/3 x 6 2/7 = 4. 16 2/9 x 4 1/5 = Pupils solve the problem.
