MA in Organizational Sciences
Organizational Management and Human Resources Management
GW’s Organizational Sciences Graduate Program ties managerial and executive success to the
integration of knowledge involving strategy, leadership, communication, and performance and
change management. It is based on the premise that for individuals and organizations to succeed—
whether they are in the for-profit, not-for-profit, government, military, service, or manufacturing
sectors—they must be ready to think and act in the most effective ways possible.
Our two concentrations—Organizational Management and Human Resources Management—are
taught by a talented group of interdisciplinary faculty and practicing professionals that prepare
you to:
• Resolve Problems
• Synthesize Information
• Persuade with Data
• Secure Organizational Success
• Optimize Decision-Making
• Enhance Member Collaboration
• Direct Organizational Culture
Human Resources Management Concentration
Organizations are continually seeking outstanding individuals who can be recruited, selected,
and developed, and whose performance adds to the organization’s bottom line. Incorporating
the latest thinking on HR practices and proven principles, the Human Resources Management
concentration provides the comprehensive foundation necessary for today’s HR managers to help
their organizations select and retain the finest employees available.
Organizational Management Concentration

consists of an integrated, individual-centered curriculum designed to provide students with a
dynamic understanding of what it takes for individuals and organizations to excel within a global
environment. Graduates emerge with an integrated package of theory, techniques, and tools—
all of which help them to successfully manage their organizations at the individual, group, and
environmental levels.
