Dear Hiring Manager:
I feel that I can offer an abundance of technical experience to TBD. With a Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering and over twenty years work experience, I am a seasoned professional that
can be an asset to TBD.
The position which I had was is in development engineering at Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Company at a Master level 7. I have architected, designed, and managed numerous electrical
designs for Mission Critical servers involving analog and digital circuitry, DC-DC and AC/DC
switch mode power supplies, I2C and other communication busses. I have been a senior design
engineer and architect for the past seventeen years on Mission Critical server platform projects.
As the resume will show, I have contributed to a number of projects which are in production today,
ranging from Mission Critical servers, analog/digital motor drivers, modular power supplies
systems, and simplex to fault tolerant switch mode power supply architectures.
I am eager to discuss a position with you further. Thank you for your time and attention. You may
reach me at my home address, email at bdwin@bajabb.com, home telephone 970-226-2460, or my
cell phone number at 970-481-5331.
Sincerely,

EXPERIENCE:
Hewlett Packard Company/Enterprise, Fort Collins, CO. October 1999 to July 2016.
April/2011 – July 2016: Electrical Power Architect. Responsible for the power architecture and design for the
next generation High End Mission Critical x86 Super Dome X.
October/2005 – November/2012: Electrical Power Architect. Responsible for the power architecture and
design for the next generation High End Mission Critical Itanium server Super Dome 2.
October/2001 – April/2006: Electrical Power Architect. Responsible for the power architecture, design, and
delivery of multiple follow on projects for the eight and sixteen socket Mission Critical PA-RISC
(rp7400/rp8400) and Itanium (rx7620/rx8620) servers.
October/1999 – September/2001: Electrical Power Engineer. Responsible for the power design and delivery
of the rp8400 sixteen socket Mission Critical PA-RISC server.
All of the power development and architecture employed knowledge of power integrity, hot swap of live
boards, high current and power distribution, understanding of high availability systems, power system
sequencing, EMC, product safety, and analog/digital circuitry. I was responsible for the power system
specification for all of the platforms. The development also employed specifying, qualifying, and managing
Power Supply vendors for DC-DC and AC/DC converters. I led the architecture and implementation for the
entire power portion of the board design work that addressed component selection, printed circuit board layout,
power electronic thermal issues, and environmental topics. In addition, I supported field escalations related to
power issues and also have interacted with customers.
Woodward Governor Company, Fort Collins and Loveland, CO. November 1996 to September 1999.
November/1996 – September/1999: Electrical Power Engineer
Analog/Digital Motor Driver Design
Responsible for the design and delivery of a platform motor driver design where the platform is capable of
controlling many different types of single, three phase AC or DC Brushless motors. The design used a digital
signal and communications processor and supporting digital circuitry, motor power stage circuits, various op
amp circuits for control, instrumentation and interfacing to the processors, discrete input and outputs, and
resolver circuitry.
3. Power Supply Design
Responsible for the design and delivery of three switch mode power supply designs. All of this development
employed using the knowledge of control loop, power stage, and magnetics. The designs implemented a
distributed power system and a fault tolerant architecture.
All of the motor driver and power supply designs addressed component selection, printed circuit board layout,
power electronic thermal issues, EMC filtering, safety agency requirements and environmental topics.
Advanced Energy Industries, Fort Collins, CO. February 1995 to November 1996.
February/1995 – November/1996: Electrical Power Engineer
Power Supply Design
Responsible for the design and delivery of a modular AC/DC High Voltage output power supply system that
consisted of two designs that had a positive/negative adjustable output. The system could contain up to eight
power supplies. All of this development employed used knowledge of analog input/output circuitry for control
and instrumentation and switch mode power supply design,
Responsible for the redesign and delivery of three switch mode power supplies in order to make them meet the
requirements of the European Communities’ EMC and Low Voltage Directive.
All of the power supply designs addressed component selection, printed circuit board layout, power electronic
thermal issues, EMC filtering, safety agency requirements and environmental topics.
Woodward Governor Company, Fort Collins and Loveland, CO. June 1984 to February 1995.
