Pompano, Tilapia, Groupers, Mud Crab.
Focus is to expand its export oriented aquaculture base by
exporting high valued finfish and shellfish species.

15. QUALITY CONTROL
• MPEDA has set up Labs at Kochi, Bhimavaram, Nellore and
Bhubaneswar with facilities to test seafood samples.
• Operating a nationwide network of ELISA labs to ensure
Antibiotic residue free aquaculture shrimp meant for export.
• MPEDA has evolved a Marine Products (Quality Marking)
scheme to grant logo as a mark of quality on seafood products
exported from India
• Investigate the rejections/detention reported from European
Union, Japan, USFDA and other markets to suggest corrective
actions
16. LOGO SCHEME

• It is a purely voluntary scheme
based on compliance to a set of
comprehensive quality
standards.
17. SUBSIDY SCHEME FOR AQUARIUM
FISH BREEDING UNITS
• Aim to tap the full potential of ornamental fishery as a
livelihood option and foreign exchange earner.
• Provide subsidy upto 25% of total investment with a cap of Rs
10 lakh for ornamental fishery to registered Self Help groups
and marketing societies.
• As of 2015-16, the company assisted 22 units with Rs. 95.01
lakh.
18. GREEN CERTIFICATION
• 2008
• Freshwater ornamental fishes
• Collection, handling, transport, holding, breeding, culture
facilities, infrastructure etc.
• Site selection, type of water, water source, water treatment,
fish holding area, packing area etc.
• GI certification
• Purpose: Produce quality fishes, reducing mortality and
making sustainable and eco-friendly environment.
