Work experience
2010- Present Adjunct Instructor
McHenry County College: Adult Education, MCC 101, co-taught in CTE programs including automotive,
manufacturing, administrative office, and certified nursing assistant. An original member of the I-CAPS
design team, I went on to write, design and teach original course curriculum, collaborating with other
departments to provide and promote adult education students access and transition to and success in career
and technical programs, traditional associate programs, or work ready skills upon completion of the GED
program.
2001- Present Small Business Director Operations
Quality Computers – oversee employees and interact with clientele, maintain employee and client reports
and records, maintain office, equipment, training, inventory, service calls and provide a variety of technical
and other support as needed.
Personal skills and competences
My strengths include interpersonal skills, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational and
strategic skills for achieving “big picture” goals. I am team, goal, and detail oriented, with a particular
predilection for the adult community college student. I successfully manage the finances of a small business
and can generalize these skills to any size budget. Further, I visualize using my sales skills, acquired over
many years in several different industries, to educate policy and decision makers, to increase exposure, and
funding. While teaching in the adult education community college setting, I became aware of the issues and
concerns beyond the classroom, including the roles and responsibilities of higher education leadership,
specifically from an organizational perspective; hence, this became the focus of my post-grad program. As
was my goal, I believe the combined competencies of my education, work experience and professional
development, and my personal journey with and amongst adult students and the many departments of
McHenry County College make me ideally and uniquely suited for this position.
Future Plans
I will find an organization with whom I can fulfill my passion for education and service into a committed,
full time, position of increased influence.
