The director of BBC films is Rose Garnett their vision for BBC films she said ‘it all begins
with the talent and encouraging (filmmakers) in their vision, encourage their boldness,
and be partner in their risk-taking and if you begin with talent rather than the stories
you build a community of people that you will work across different genres in different
countries.
3. How does the BBC Films website describe the type of films they make?
BBC films work closely with filmmakers throughout the creative process, offering
rigorous opportunity to new filmmakers and a protected, collaborative space for
established voices. BBC films finds, nurtures and develops new talent and collaborates
with world- class writers, directors and producers. They describe themselves as a
creative strand and makes all different sorts of films.
4. Who is responsible for the Marketing dept at BBC Films and where did they work
prior to BBC Films?
The person that is responsible for the marketing debt at BBC films is Emma Hewitt.
Before BBC films she was deputy head of BFI activity. She started her career at
Nottingham- based Regional Screen agency, EM media where she was PR and marketing
executive.

BBC films are often featured in BAFTA awards and nominations, British Urban film
festivals, British independent film awards, BBC films sizzle showreels and they are
featured in many more.
