4. The typical courses of this special dinner are
shellfish, fish ( sea bream, gilt head bream,
see bass, hake), lamb, turkey, ham
To drink it is drunk wine, cider and cava
(spanish sparkling wine similar to french
champagne)
After dinner it is eaten the typical christmas
sweets ( nougat candy, marzipan,
polvoron…)
7. In the Christmas holidays is very usually to have drinks
for toasting with the friends and family
The most common drink is the Cava, which is a
sparkling wine
In Spain the Cava has certificate of origin from the
Autonomous community of Cataluña

The most important sweets in Christmas are: the nougat
candy, the marzipan and polvorones

The dinner is usually fish, shellfish, lamb and christmas sweets.
The new year day it is taken liquors and cava for celebrating the

After dinner the 31 of december, according to the tradition,
twelve grapes eaten at midnight on New year`s Eve in Puerta del
Sol ( Madrid) or watching T.V

11. The first day of the year is holiday is Spain and is
celebrated eating with the family.
The food for this day is usually fish, lamb,piglet,
ham, etc.
12. It is the night from the 5 to the 6 of January, kids
Get gifts from the three wise men. It is special night, above
all for the kids
The 6 of January it is eaten the ring- shaped cake, typical
sweet for this day.
It is a scone with the form of ring and decorated with small
pieces of sugar coated fruit and sugar. Between the dough it
is hidden a small surprise.
13. The typical course of Carnival is the
Horejuelas. It is sweet prepared with eggs,
flavour, oil and sugar

In the area of pastry- making is very popuar in all the
territory in Easter week the pieces of French toast. They are
made with slices of bread and are fried after soaking them
in milk for being served hotter
16. In Spain is tradition that the person who is his
birthday invites his friends to take something
(lunch, dinner,snack..)
It is always present in the birthdays the bithday

17. In the weddings are served a great variety of courses ( 4
or 5), among them are shellfish, meat, fish and the
dessert

together with all the family.
It is usually eaten starters, main courses that consist of

25. In Spain the Catholics has the habit of not eating meat
the Good Friday, in memory of the day that Jesus
Christ died in the Holy Cross
During a lot of centuries the Catholics abstained from
eating meat all the Fridays in the Lent. But now this
has changed.
