The document proposes a 10-15 minute advertising video for a creative media course. It will showcase the department, include interviews with staff and students, and aim to attract students ages 16-18 of all backgrounds. The cast will include two students giving tours and conducting interviews, along with teachers and other students. No external budget is needed as the college has requisite cameras, computers, and software. An example budget outlines hypothetical costs of £2478.50 for equipment like a green screen, lighting, snacks, a camcorder, DVDs, and "staffing costs" which are waived since college volunteers will be used.
Task 2iii editing the digital video for the creative media project
Creative Media Course Advert Proposal
1. Team Proposal
Our advert is based around the creative media department where the advert will
include showing the viewers around the department and showing off the many things
that they will be getting involved in.If they enrol on the course, we will also include
interviews with staff and students alike that will give their views on the course as a
whole along with answering some of our questions. The advert will be around 10-15
minutes long, and will be shortened down or lengthened depending on what we
manage to get on the day of recording.
The target audience for our advert will be students of the ages 16-18 who wish to
enrol on a creative media course or are undecided on which course to take, if this is
the case then we will really need to get some good interesting shots in the advert that
will really make them want to enrol in our course and our college.Going into detail
about the target audience we want to make sure that everyone from all races,
religions or backgrounds feel welcome to the college and show that everyone can
succeed and nobody is discriminated against, we also want to make sure that the
audience know that teachers are always here and are happy to help you with any
problems you may face on the course, as a happy, friendly environment is more ideal
to sign up and be a part of.
The cast and crew will consist of a few people mainly being Shaun and Ben who will
conduct interviews and show the audience around the department, a few teachers will
also appear in the advert along with a few students that will be there to conduct the
interviews with or to help in showing of the many things that go on in the department.
The camera man will have to be a teacher or student that we can get a hold of as in
some parts Shaun and Ben will both be on set at one time.
The budget is something we would be concerned with if we were doing an advert with
our own funds but since the college has everything that we need such as camera’s,
computers with the right software etc. then we do not really need to set any type of
budget but I will do one going off if we actually were to buy everything;
I am working to a budget of £4000 which will be used to create a presentation to go
along with the video, also snacks will be needed for the people involved in the video,
and the camera will also be paid for along with the lighting that is needed the costs
will go as followed;
• Green Screen with professional green screen video editor - £300
• Soft box lighting. 2x85w 5400K CRI>90 Bulbs, 40x60cm Softboxes - £187.95

to volunteer.)
• DVD disks used for distribution. 3x 100 MAXELL DVD-R BLANK DISCS
RECORDABLE DVD 16x 4.7GB 120mins - £16.52 x 3 = £49.56
Total cost of equipment/supplies = £2478.50
