2. DISNEY INTRODUCTION
• Disney was originally founded in 1923 by two brothers, Walt and Roy O Disney. The company
originally started of creating American animation films, before diversifing into live action films,
television and most recently the famous theme parks. Disney have released over 318 films and 650
short films in total so far.

3. DISNEY BEFORE MARVEL
(PUBLISHING)
In total Disney have made 129 books turn into a reality as their
own films bringing the magic of Disney to life. For example, all
the Disney princess movies where originally books by Brothers
Grimm, and now 142million princess books have been
created by Disney. They have published 250 million children's
books as well as selling over 400 million magazines each year.
Including now a making Disney book website.

4. AUDIO/MOVING IMAGE
• The brothers started their company in a small office in LA
producing short animated films, then soon expanded to larger
facilities following early success. Many changes took place in
the Disney studio over the next 14 years, excpanding to grow
with their continued success. 1928 Mickey Mouse was created
soon followed in the rest of the disney gang; like Pluto, Goofy
and Donald Duck. In 1937 Disney produced its first full length
animated feature film, 'Snow White and The Seven
Dwarfs' which was a great success. During the 1940s and the
1950s some of the most succsesful Disney animated films
where produced including Fantasia, Cinderella, Peter Pan,
Bambi and Alice in Wonderland. By the late 1940s ,Disney was
creating live action feature and Tv programs. Today they have
created over 744 films (16 Marvel). In 1983' the Disney
Channel was born so you can now watch Disney all the time
24/7!

5. INTERACTIVE
• In 1994 Disney created a new division dedicated to computer and video game software and by Augusrt
1995 Disney formed Disney Online, with a net income of over $308million. Disney have also made an
educational app for kids to help with learning in a fun way.
• If you visit the Disney Theme park you can also download the app for the park to get the most out of
your holiday as well as shopping online. To inspire kids and families for an unforgettable experience.

6. MARVEL
INTRODUCTION
• Marvel started in 1939 as Timely
Comics, after that in 1951 they
became Atlas Comics. Then the true
Marvel era began in 1961 when they
created the superhero titles
(including the Fantastic Four) which
the films today our based upon these
superhero characters. The films are
based on these superhero characters
living in a parallell universe and based
in and around New York City.

7. MARVEL PUBLISHING
• All the superhero characters today started as comic characters in
the 1940s and 50s, such as 'Captain America'. In the early 1960s it
changed its name to 'Marvel Comics' as we know it today to
compete with its rival company DC Comics. Due to a slump in
comic sales , Marvel Comics went into bankrupcy in 1996 until it
was bought by Walt Disney Company in 2009.

• Marvel films was created by Marvel studios, the first film they made was Captain America in 1955 and
it was remade again in 2011. It created many suoerhero films such as Iron Man, Spider Man, Hulk, Thor,
as well as teams such as X-MEN, Avengers and Fantastic Four.

• Marvel have made video games, online comics, Tv
shows all based on th superhero comics. As well
as Lego Marvel the video game. You can also
download Marvel apps or even visit Evengers
Station which is an interactive experience event
where you can become apart the comic
experience.

10. DISNEY AND MARVEL IN THE
PRESENT TIME
• In 2009 Disney purchased Marvel for $4 billion and own 100%
of Marvel Entertainment. During the last ten years they have
made over $18billion. The huge success from this purchase
was the Avengers films. Now today Disneys net worth is nearly
$130billion.
