Well, we have opened the new book and once again we’ve got a chance to fill the pages. Let’s fill them

As we step into the New Year, the countdown to Balmer Lawrie’s biggest, most popular and most
awaited employee event, the Foundation Day celebrations begins. We are all geared up to celebrate our
company’s 153rd Foundation Day. With the completion of 152 years on 1st February 2019, all employees
and their families will join the celebrations on 3rd February 2019 in the four regions across the country.
In the Eastern Region a host of pre-events have been planned, which include a cricket tournament
scheduled on 26th January, an Antakshri competition on 31st January and a Rangoli & Groufie contest
on 1st February. 3rd February will be a fun-filled day. Hope all of you will enjoy together and cherish
every moment of being a Balmer Lawrien.

2. Mr. A Ratna Sekhar, Director [HR&CA] was invited as guest faculty by Jaipuria Institute of
Management, New Delhi to address a session during their Management Development Programme
(MDP) on labour laws’ reforms and contract labour management, organized from 28th to 30th
November, 2018 at Delhi. The session was very well received and there were relevant takeaways for
the participants.

invited as a guest speaker in the SHRM India
National Public Enterprises Conference held on
18th December 2018 at the SCOPE Complex in
New Delhi. He addressed the participants
during a panel discussion on the topic “Can
CSR funds be utilized for the growth of new
India by 2022?” The other panellists included
leaders from the industry.
A session on ‘Fearless Purchase’ was organised for employees on 20th December 2018 at New Delhi by
Mr. Dipankar Mondal, VP [Vigilance & SA to CVO]. Mr. A Ratna Sekhar, Director [HR & CA] and Mr.
Vinod Kumar, CVO also addressed the session, which was appreciated by all.

3. A training programme on customer service was organised for the Travel team in the Southern Region in
two batches on 7th and 12th December 2018 at Chennai.
A free health check-up camp for employees was organised at Industrial Packaging, Kolkata on 6th
December 2018.
