1. Come September and all of us gear up to celebrate Hindi Divas and Hindi Pakhwada. It is customary
to celebrate Hindi Divas on 14th September and during the month, all the four regions pan India
organise various events and programs as part of the Hindi Pakhwara celebrations. The Constituent
Assembly of India adopted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the official language of India on 14th
September 1949. This year post COVID-19 relaxation, various programs and competitions were
organised in person to promote Hindi as the Official Language. In the Eastern Region the Hindi
Pakhwara celebrations commenced on 14th September and would continue till 30th September 2022.
Vishwakarma Puja was celebrated with much fervour in our factories and offices in the Eastern
Region on 17th September 2022. Employees paid reverence to the God of Tools and prayed for the
well-being of the organisation and all employees. The 105th AGM of our Company was conducted by
NSDL on 27th September 2022 on their virtual platform. Directors of the Company, Company
Secretary and Shareholders connected virtually. We will bring you glimpses of all these events in the
October 2022 issue of BLOOM.
India is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) on the occasion of our country completing 75
years of independence. The Government of India has undertaken various initiative to showcase
India's rich history, culture, heritage and glory to the entire world and also instil in the hearts of
Indian citizens a sense of immense pride. Of the different successful campaigns, the ‘Har Ghar
Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of AKAM was organised by Minsitry of Culture, GOI to encourage
people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. Our
relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the
flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus, becomes symbolic of not
only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to
nation-building. The idea behind the initiative was to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of
the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. Balmer Lawrie joined the Har
Ghar Tiranga campaign and encouraged all employees to hoist the national flag in their homes.
Festivity is in the air! We celebrated Janmashtami, Ganesh Chathurti, Bakri Eid, Onam and
Vishwakarma Puja and in October we would celebrate Durga Puja / Vijaya Dashami / Dussehra and
Diwali. BLOOM extends its best wishes to you and your family for all the festivals! As always, I'll look
forward to your feedback, contributions and suggestions. Do send them to
mukhopadhyay.mohar@balmerlawrie.com.
