2. • I am very happy with how my short documentary ended up. I think
that it ended up extremely close to how I imagined it to be. I really
liked the colour correction and the colour grading. I think that it's the
best colour correction and grading I have ever produced. I think the
yellow overtones work very well with the style of video. I wanted a
very relaxed and calm looking video and I think that I have done a
very good job at making that and it was what I wanted. I think that
the volume of the music works extremely well. I think that it's not
overly noticeable, but you can also loud enough so that it doesn't
make it awkward at the parts where there is only ambient noise. I like
the way that it gets louder when there is no talking. I thought that the
song choice was bad at first but the longer I used it for the more I
thought that it fit, and I decided to keep it because I actually think
that it works very well.
3. • I think that my research was satisfactory and was enough to get what
I wanted from my short documentary. I did not have to do a lot of
research because a lot of it wasn't been told by my and it was an
auto-biography from my dad but researching the different things that
he has done so that I could find fitting footage to go over the
interview was useful so that I could easily find footage. I think that I
did this efficiently because I think all the footage that I have used in
my short documentary fits well.
4. • I think that my planning worked, and it was enough to help me through my
production, although I believe that it could have been better. I think that
my planning for what I was going to ask, and my script was good because it
got my dad to talk about what I needed, and I did not need any more
interview time than I already had. I think that I could have planned for the
shots that I had planned more, because I ended up with not enough time
and not being in a position due to the Corona Virus to film certain things
that I wanted, and I think I should have planned for things like this since I
knew that these things could happen during my planning time. I think that I
could planned exactly where in my house I was going to film the interview
because a lot of time was spent on the day of filming test and finding the
correct location to film the interview that had the bets interview. I think
that if I had done this during my planning phase that I could of saved a lot
of time when filming the interview and of had more time to fix mistakes
that I didn't have time to fix.
5. • I think that my time management was good enough to get everything
recorded to standard I wanted. However, I think that this is the thing
that I could have improved on the most. I think that I could have
planned timing with my dad a lot better and I should have asked at
least 4 weeks in advance, because in my two production weeks my
dad was very busy, and I only had two half days to do two weeks'
worth of filming. I also think that I should have planned a lot of the
shots that I was going to get to go over the interview weeks in
advance. This is because there was a lot of shots that I couldn't get
because of the Corona Virus. And there was a lot of props that I didn't
have access too because they weren't there at the time that I was
filming but I could have got them a few weeks before to make sure
that I had them on days of filming.
6. • I think that I did a really good job keeping my short documentary
from two to three minutes. When filming my documentary I forgot
that I had to stick to these times, so I made the most of my time and
got it to exactly three minutes. Even though I had to cut it from
twenty minutes to three, I think that I did a really good job and I think
that it flows well. I used a lot of cuts between the two different
interviewing angles and I think because I did this it doesn't look like
I've cut between different part of the stories to shorten it and it looks
like one take, or if I did cut it, it feels very smooth. I think my use of
using different footage of my dad walking over the top of the
interview did a very good job at establishing the different part of the
interview without making it very obvious and does a very good job at
blending it all together.
7. • I think that I did a very good job at appearing to my initial audience,
because even though the stories being told are from twenty-five years
ago, the video is still very modern and there is nothing mentioned in
the story, except for gladiators, that somebody in my target audience
wouldn't understand. I also think that I did a very good job at
appearing to my secondary Adience as I think that this can appeal to
all age groups because there is no language or technology that all age
groups except for eight and under can't understand. I think to appeal
to my target audience more I could have added in more relevant
things, however, I don't feel like this was necessary as I think that it
would draw attention away from the stories of the past that are being
told.
