1. The secondary school will accept students of any nationality
who have a reasonable standard of English and will prepare
them for the internationally recognised Cambridge University
IGCSE and A Level examinations prior to entry to universities

The Principal of the school, Mr Mark
Sayer, is a well-qualified and very
experienced educator. Mr Sayer has
worked in a number of schools in
England during his teaching career
and is an experienced Head Teacher.
His most recent posts were Boarding
Housemaster at Wellington College
and Headmaster of Elstree School in
Berkshire. Mr Sayer is committed to
helping students achieve the best
possible academic outcomes from their
time at BVIS and will be shaping the school's ethos and
future to create an environment of real challenge and
purpose for every child.
s Vietnam continues to evolve and change the best
placed future business leaders will be those educated
to an international standard in English, but still main-
taining a deep rooted and authentic understanding of
Vietnamese culture and language. With this in mind, the BIS
Group of Schools has developed a unique world class educa-
tion model which ensures true bilingual proficiency upon
graduation, as well as preparing students for admission to
leading universities around the world. These new types of
schools are called British Vietnamese International Schools
(BVIS). BVIS Hanoi (Royal City Campus) is the newest of
this type of school and will open in a convenient central
location in the Thanh Xuan District in August 2013.
A All Vietnamese teachers will have received training on the
other campuses of the BIS Group of Schools, to ensure that
they are all familiar with the latest methodologies, ideas and
uses of technology in the classroom.
The primary curriculum is a unique
blend of the National Curriculum for
England and the Vietnamese National
Curriculum. In order to support the
acquisition of both languages, Maths,
Social Studies (Geography and History)
and Vietnamese language will be taught
in Vietnamese, whilst all other subjects
will be taught in English. Shared
planning and cross-language topics will
also accelerate vocabulary acquisition in both English and
Vietnamese to ensure literacy levels in both English and
Vietnamese will be high by the end of primary school.

literature is experienced via our
unique dual-language curricu-

All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards
and data projectors. The school boasts exceptional facilities
including specialist suites for Science, Music, ICT, Art and
Drama. Primary classrooms also feature special ‘breakout’
rooms for dual-language work. All of the school buildings
have a wireless network capability, whilst outside
playgrounds, sports halls, swimming pool and other
outdoor facilities meet international standards of safety and
flexibility. The Early Years Foundation Stage classes will be
housed in a separate building with access to its own
facilities and outdoor spaces.
