Covid-19 adalah penyakit akibat infeksi virus SARS-Cov-2 yang pertama kali muncul di Cina pada akhir tahun 2019. Terdapat beberapa kategori gejala, yaitu pasien tanpa gejala, pasien dengan gejala pneumonia (infeksi paru-paru), hingga gagal napas (ARDS). Beberapa faktor yang meningkatkan probabilitas kematian adalah, usia lebih dari 65 tahun, adanya komorbiditas seperti diabetes, perokok, asma, obesitas, atau immunocompromised. Di Indonesia angka kematian dan angka kesembuhan masih fluktuatif mengikuti faktor lingkungan, lokasi, dan karakteristik populasi.
