2. Influences of my
Philosophy
Positive Influences
• My first homeroom teacher when I was
in Elementary school
• My Theory of Music professor in the
conservatory
• My son and each day of his
development
• A former principal that was a great
model of educators and a great mentor
• Joining Acacia University and growing
with each interaction in it.
• Getting introduced to many great
educators and philosophers in my
studies like Dewey, Gardner, Marzano
Negative Influences
• My Arabic teacher in high school
taught me what a teacher should not
be
• My German teacher in college and her
lack of care
• My first supervisor in my first year of
teaching taught me how a mentor
and leader shouldn’t be
• Teachers conversations in the
staffrooms labeling and judging
students
• My child’s teacher in Nursery and her
teaching approaches “one fits all”
4. How I live my Philosophy
• By being fully dedicated and committed
• By loving what I am doing
• By wanting to always leave a footprint and make a difference
• By treating each and every student as if they were my own children and always
remember how I would like to see my child learning
• By respecting everyone’s individuality and making them feel special
• By continuous professional development to not only model what I preach, but
also to be able to serve and contribute to my best abilities
• By guiding my team and supporting them
• By seeing the special skills in my teachers and nourish and encourage their growth
• By understanding that we are all learners each in his different role of the learning
journey
