Dear Atsuko!
Thank Honoka for me. The song and singing are perfect and very professional. Tomorrow I'll show it to my
students and the teachers of our music school.
Yesterday I wrote an article for our local newspaper about our friendship and meeting in Skype. I wrote
about our work for Peace and about touchful stories of your children. Everybody in the publish center was
surprised and happy that our children have the opportunity to have a talk and to work together.
I'll ask my girl Tanya to sing something in Russian for you. Thank you
Irina
Dear Atsuko,
thanks for such a friendly letter and for a great idea of collaboration. I've uploaded all the stories in my
blog http://ourlittleenglish.blogspot.ru/p/machinto-project.html my students will post their reply a little bit
later. We've got winter holidays now till January, 14.
We're working with many countries on topic "peace" and I'm glad to have a new partner in our
2. 2
peacekeeping collaboration. Please, look through our blog in order to know more about our cooperation with
partners around the world.
I also think that peacekeeping cooperation is very important nowadays. As you see we've got partners
from Japan and we've already sent a parcel for our partners. Machinto project is the special project for me
because I met its facilitator Yoko Takagi in Taiwan, iEARN conference, 2011 and discussed the opportunity
of using Machinto book at the lessons. More over my students are also very interested in working on this
projects because they understand they're lucky to know about wars just from books and other people stories.
Thank you for your willingness to present our blog at the conference.
Our club has got lots of partners around the world and we've already signed agreements with some schools.
What do you think about signing an agreement of cooperation and start working as partner schools?
All the necessary documents are attached. As soon as we start the new term we'll discuss them with my
students! thanks!

Dear Atsuko,
I just finished reading all the moving stories and poems that your students wrote. They are beautifully done
and very impressive, particularly since English is not their first language. I will try to get things going
once we all return. I hope to gather some students from last year that did the paintings that your students
responded to, to create video replies to your students. Then I will send you the links to them. I am sure that
3. 3
at your school, like mine, students’ privacy is of utmost importance, so I hope that you can be in charge of
those links. We will probably just use first names for the same reason.
I would like some of my students to make artworks based on the different writings of their choice. The class I
am thinking of, is just finishing one project and beginning another, so it might take quite a while before they
are done. What is your school schedule? We can work around that. Do you have vacations coming up? When
is your school year over? Once I know that, I can plan better. I would love for our students to interact and
send pictures and video messages to each other.
I love the picture that you sent of your students. Once we have settled on our project, I will send you some
pictures. Let’s keep in touch. Be Well. Peace and Love. Debra
Happy New Year to You! And Happy New Year to your students! I was unable to get past the first link that
you gave me. I think I probably need a password to get to your students cards. How kind of you to send
them! I have a few days before vacation, but if we don’t figure it out before then, we will do it when I get back.
Peace and Love.

Dear Akamatsu sensei,
Thank you for you students stories of peace. I think it is a wonderful activity that you have got them to
work on. The words your students have put together show a lot a thought and sensitivity. You understand
through the students’ words that they are special and caring young people with a beautiful spirit. I wish
you and your students success in living meaning and peaceful and happy lives,
