2. TSEOSOPHRY
There are some works that help
us understand what skill and
intelligence means such as the
theory of multiple intelligences
that tries to differentiate human
intelligence. There is also a theory
that subdivides general
intelligence into Fluid and
crystallized intelligence. Skill has
also been classified in different
ways and studied. You find short
descriptions of these works at the
end of this article.
3. TSEOSOPHRY
The purpose of this article
is to propose a model to
understand the creation
and usage of Skill and
Intelligence. It is called the
Creation and Usage of Skill
and Intelligence (CUSI)
Model. Let’s define them
first.
4. TSEOSOPHRY
A skill is the learned ability
to perform an action with
determined results with
good execution often
within a given amount of
time, energy, or both.

5. TSEOSOPHRY
Intelligence has been defined in many
ways: the capacity for abstraction,
logic, understanding, self-awareness,
learning, emotional knowledge,
reasoning, planning, creativity, critical
thinking, and problem-solving. More
generally, it can be described as the
ability to perceive or infer information,
and to retain it as knowledge to be
applied towards adaptive behaviors
within an environment or context.

The Creation and Usage of Skill and
Intelligeance (CUSI) Model
The Creation and Usage of Skill and
Intelligeance (CUSI) Model divides
the creation of Skill and Intelligence
into five categories; Detail Oriented,
Challenge Oriented, Exercise
Oriented, Goal Oriented, Competition
Oriented and the usage of Skill and
Intelligence into seven categories;
Creative, Analytic, Performance,
Theoretical, Imaginative, Executive,
Organizational.

The Theory of Mulitiple
Intelligences
This section is compiled from
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T
heory_of_multiple_intelligences
The theory of multiple
intelligences proposes the
differentiation of human
intelligence into specific
modalities of intelligence, rather
than defining intelligence as a
single, general ability.
9. TSEOSOPHRY
In Frames of Mind: The Theory
of Multiple Intelligences (1983)
and its sequels, Howard
Gardner proposed eight
abilities that manifest multiple
intelligences.
Musical-rhythmic and
harmonic. This area of
intelligence with sensitivity to
the sounds, rhythms, and tones
of music.
10. TSEOSOPHRY
Visual-spatial. This area
deals with spatial judgment
and the ability to visualize
with the mind’s eye.
Linguistic-verbal. People
with high verbal-linguistic
intelligence display a
facility with words and
languages.
11. TSEOSOPHRY
Logical-mathematical. This
area has to do with logic,
abstractions, reasoning,
numbers and critical
thinking.
Bodily-kinesthetic. The core
elements of the bodily-
kinesthetic intelligence are
control of one’s bodily
motions and the capacity to
handle objects skillfully.
12. TSEOSOPHRY
Interpersonal. In theory,
individuals who have high
interpersonal intelligence are
characterized by their
sensitivity to others’ moods,
feelings, temperaments,
motivations, and their ability to
cooperate to work as part of a
group.
Intrapersonal. This area has to
do with introspective and self-
reflective capacities.
13. TSEOSOPHRY
Naturalistic. This sort of ecological
receptiveness is deeply rooted in a
“sensitive, ethical, and holistic
understanding” of the world and its
complexities — including the role of
humanity within the greater
ecosphere.
Existential. Gardner did not want to
commit to a spiritual intelligence,
but suggested that an “existential”
intelligence may be a useful
construct, also proposed after the
original eight in his 1999 book.
14. TSEOSOPHRY
Additional intelligences. In January 2016,
Gardner mentioned in an interview with
BigThink that he is considering adding
the teaching-pedagogical intelligence
“which allows us to be able to teach
successfully to other people”.In the same
interview, he explicitly refused some
other suggested intelligences like
humour, cooking and sexual intelligence.
Professor Nan B. Adams argues that
based on Gardner’s definition of multiple
intelligences, digital intelligence — a
meta-intelligence composed of many
other identified intelligences and
stemmed from human interactions with
digital computers — now exists.
15. TSEOSOPHRY
Fluid and crystallized intelligence
This section is compiled from
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluid_and_cryst
allized_intelligence
The concepts of fluid intelligence (gf) and
crystallized intelligence (gc) were introduced
in 1963 by the psychologist Raymond Cattell.
According to Cattell’s psychometrically-
based theory, general intelligence (g) is
subdivided into gf and gc. Fluid intelligence
is the ability to solve novel reasoning
problems and is correlated with a number of
important skills such as comprehension,
problem solving, and learning. Crystallized
intelligence, on the other hand, involves the
ability to deduce secondary relational
abstractions by applying previously learned
primary relational abstractions.
16. TSEOSOPHRY
Types of Skills
This section is compiled
from
https://en.wikipedia.org/w
iki/Skill
Hard skills. Hard skills,
also called technical skills,
are any skills relating to a
specific task or situation.
17. TSEOSOPHRY
Holistic competencies. Holistic
competencies is the umbrella term for
different types of generic skills (e.g.
critical thinking, problem-solving skills,
positive values, and attitudes (e.g.
resilience, appreciation for others)
which are essential for life-long
learning and whole-person
development.
Labor skills. Skilled workers have long
had historical import as electricians,
masons, carpenters, blacksmiths,
bakers, brewers, coopers, printers and
other occupations that are
economically productive.
18. TSEOSOPHRY
Life skills. An ability and capacity
acquired through deliberate,
systematic, and sustained effort to
smoothly and adaptively carryout
complex activities or job functions
involving ideas (cognitive skills), things
(technical skills), and/or people
(interpersonal skills).
People skills. According to the Portland
Business Journal, people skills are
described as understanding ourselves
and moderating our responses, talking
effectively and empathizing accurately
and building relationships of trust,
respect and productive interactions.
19. TSEOSOPHRY
Social skills. Social skill is any
skill facilitating interaction and
communication with others.
Soft skills. Soft skills are a
combination of interpersonal
people skills, social skills,
communication skills,
character traits, attitudes,
career attributes and emotional
intelligence quotient (EQ)
among others.
