3. JKSRTC
• The J&K State Road Transport Corporation came into
existence on 01-09-1976 under Road Transport
Corporation Act of 1950. The J&K SRTC played a vital
role in developing the economy of the state right from
the independence of the country from 1947. The
J&KSRTC has maintained the supply of essential
commodities to every nook & corner of the state very
efficiently & operates passenger bus, loads services in
all the regions within the state. It also operates the
services on Inter-State routes in Punjab, Haryana,
Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi& Rajasthan.

Counter shaft : Counter shaft is a shaft which
connects with the clutch shaft directly.
Main shaft : It is the shaft which runs at the vehicle
speed.
Gears : Gears are used to transmit the power form
one shaft to another.
Clutch Shaft: The clutch shaft performs the function
of disengaging the meshed gears.

11. AIR FILTER
It is a device composed of fibrous materials which removes
solid particulates such as dust, pollen, mould from the air.
12. OIL FILTER
An oil filter is a filter designed to remove contaminants
from engine oil, transmission oil, lubricating oil, hydraulic
oil.
13. ENGINE
• In case of busses & trucks the diesel engines are used.
• The diesel engine are manufactured in two stroke & four
stroke versions.
• In JKSRTC there are mostly six-cylinder four stroke engine
are used.
• Diesel engine is an I.C engine that uses the heat of
compression to initiate ignition to burn the fuel, which is
injected to the combustion chamber.
