1. What kind of media
institution might
distribute your media
project and why?
2. Lionsgate UK is highly established distribution and
production company, forming in 2005 after obtaining
former company ‘Redbus Film Distribution’. Since the birth
of the company, Lionsgate UK released numerous
successful films such as the Hunger Games franchise which
is the 15th highest grossing film company of all time. With a
total budget of $493m, The Hunger Games produced a
staggering $2.9b in the box office. Adding to this success,
Lionsgate UK have released BAFTA and Academy award
nominated ‘The Invisible Women’ as well as the universally
acclaimed film, ‘Brooklyn’. Lionsgate would be our ideal
distribution company as they are capable of reaching out
to the public through television as they co-own pop and
CBS Productions. Pop is an American based cable and
satellite and CBS Productions is a mass media corporation
that focuses on commercial broadcasting, publishing and
television production. Our film is funded by LionsGate
however it was produced outside the companies studio.
3. Millennial Productions is our invented production company that
aim to produce horror films specified with slasher films. We
came up this name as we are the millennials, the new ethnically
diverse generation, living with advance technology and
approaching life differently than the older generations due to
these new circumstances. With this production title, we want to
reach out all of the millennials out there and provide them with
content specified for them. Essentially, we want to inspire as well
as entertain millennials by producing films with their interest
such as slasher films. As well as the meaning behind the name,
Millennial Productions is a unique, formal and original name for
a production company that stands out from the competition.
