1. What kind of media institution
might distribute your media
product and why?
Evaluation: Question 3 Alexandra Watt
2. British or American?
Our film is intended to be a low budget, independent British film. Therefore, we have decided to
use a British distribution company.
4. Which one is for me?
That is only a handful of the film distribution companies that are active in the UK today. This made
choosing one for our film very challenging as we had to research into each company. Here are a
few examples…
5. Arrow Films
Arrow Films is a UK distributor of classic, horror, and cult films on Blu-ray and DVD.
Arrow Films was established in 1991.
They distribute DVD and Blu-ray.
Their aim is to "focus on high-quality presentations of classic and cult cinema".

6. Pinewood Studios
Pinewood Studios is a British film studio and television studio located in Iver Heath,
Buckinghamshire.
The studios have been the base for many productions over the years from big-budget films to
television shows, commercials and pop promos and is well known as the home of the James Bond,
Superman, and Star Wars sequel trilogy film series.

content.

8. Lionsgate
Lions Gate Entertainment Inc., doing business as Lionsgate, is a Canadian–American entertainment
company.
The company was formed on July 3, 1997, in Vancouver, British Columbia, and is headquartered
in Santa Monica, California.
In addition to its well-known Lionsgate Films property, which generated the seventh-highest gross
revenue in North America in 2015, the company contains other divisions such as Lionsgate
Television and Lionsgate Interactive.
Aside from home video distribution of films sub-licensed from other studios, Lionsgate's library
consists of films from the respective companies Lionsgate succeeded-in-interest, such as Trimark
Pictures, Vestron Pictures, and Artisan Entertainment, in addition to their in-house material. Their
complete ownership depends on the worldwide regions of license.
9. Our decision: Lionsgate
We decided on Lionsgate to distribute our film as they are a highly successful company who
distribute films across the world. They would be vital in helping us to reach local, national, and
international audiences.
